Are Hyundai’s prices in the United States creeping upward?

Hyundai has chalked up a seventh consecutive month of record-breaking sales in the US, driven largely by the increasing popularity of its electric and hybrid vehicle offerings.

In April, the corporation launched its Buyer Assurance program, which locked in vehicle purchase prices until June 2, 2025. Hyundai guaranteed that owners and lessees of brand-new Hyundai vehicles bought or leased during the promotional period would not face increased prices.

As the window closure approaches next week, Hyundai is expected to increase car prices across its entire range. Insiders indicate that Hyundai is mulling over a 1% price increase across its entire model range.

The premium pricing may be reflected in the suggested retail price and is limited to recently manufactured products only. Vehicles currently in inventory at dealerships remain exempt from the rising values.

Hyundai is likely to pass on increased costs for optional features, such as premium roof rails and other imported components, rather than absorbing these expenses themselves or implementing further price increases on entry-level models.

As part of our routine annual pricing review, driven by shifting market conditions and customer needs, Hyundai has announced a price adjustment, unaffected by trade tariffs, according to a company statement.

Hyundai will proactively respond to changes in supply and demand, as well as shifting regulatory landscapes, by leveraging a flexible pricing strategy and targeted incentive programs.

What’s subsequent

While no concrete details were discussed, the expected price increases will result in at least hundreds of dollars added to the cost of each Hyundai vehicle.

Although Hyundai has not publicly stated its intentions regarding cost increases, there is a possibility that plans could still evolve. The sources cited continue to fuel ongoing discussions.

If accurate, Hyundai is expected to join other manufacturers, including Ford, in increasing car prices due to Trump’s auto tariffs.

While Hyundai’s potential cost increase may pose challenges, it still stands to gain an advantage over many others. The corporation commemorated the grand opening of its state-of-the-art Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) manufacturing facility in Georgia earlier this year, where production has commenced on the advanced IONIQ 5 and innovative IONIQ 6, three-row models.

The all-new 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric vehicle now offers a remarkable driving range of up to 318 miles on a single charge, seamlessly compatible with Tesla Supercharger ports for convenient long-distance travel, while its refreshed exterior and interior design elevate the overall aesthetic appeal.

The Customary Vary model starts at just $42,500, boasting a respectable 245-mile driving range. The range-topping trim, offering up to 318 miles of driving distance, starts at a competitive price point of $46,550. With a potential $7,500 federal tax credit score in place, the total cost could potentially dip below $36,500.

The Hyundai IONIQ 9, a three-row SUV, starts at $60,555 and boasts an estimated range of up to 335 miles. Like its predecessor, the IONIQ 5, this vehicle also features a native NACS port natively integrated.
