Charging has never been easier. Hyundai and Kia aim to simplify the process of purchasing an electric vehicle (EV) with the introduction of a novel robotic innovation that automatically calculates and pays for the vehicle’s cost, making the experience seamless and hassle-free.

Hyundai expands robotized electric vehicle charging infrastructure in South Korea.

Can’t technology make charging easier? As soon as Hyundai Motor reveals its innovative automated charging robots (ACRs) in Korea, the concept of seamless EV ownership will become a tangible reality.

Hyundai and Kia unveil a demo website at Incheon Worldwide Airport as a key component of their novel business partnership. Hyundai and Kia have agreed to collaborate with the airport on a pioneering project – developing an automated, robotic electric vehicle charging system.

As South Korea’s largest airport, Incheon International Airport has made significant strides in electric vehicle adoption, boasting an entirely electrified fleet; it’s poised to install a staggering 1,110 charging stations by 2026, making it an ideal destination for EV enthusiasts.

The companies intend to leverage the demo website as a launching pad for expansion, with aspirations to penetrate additional airport, seaport, railway, and other key transportation hubs.

Hyundai Motor’s head of R&D stated the undertaking is “a big milestone in verifying the sensible advantages” of robotic EV charging.

Hyundai has deployed a fleet of automated charging robots at Incheon Worldwide Airport, the company announced.

While various companies, such as Tesla and RAM, have previewed autonomous electric vehicle charging stations in recent times, Hyundai appears poised to be among the first to bring these innovations to life with its robotic EV charger.

Hyundai debuted its autonomous robotic charging system in 2023. Using a 3D digital camera system and artificial intelligence, the robot autonomously locates and connects to the vehicle’s charging port.
