Toyota’s new EV is getting an off-road upgrade: Here’s our first look at the bZ Woodland
SHARE

This rugged, highly potent vehicle excels at both on- and off-road expeditions. Toyota’s latest electric SUV receives a rugged makeover in the form of its new Woodland edition, boasting a potent 375-hp powertrain, increased floor clearance, and a range of features designed to tackle the great outdoors. Take a look at our first review of the Toyota bZ Woodland EV.

What’s the off-road adventure you’ve been craving? Meet the brand-new 2026 Toyota bZ4X Woodland EV – a thrilling ride that redefines your connection with nature. With its rugged design and advanced technology, this electric SUV is ready to take on any terrain, from muddy trails to rocky inclines.

Toyota is finally taking a step forward. Toyota has introduced a revamped “bZ4X” and followed it up with an even more capable off-road edition, the “Woodland”, just two days later.

Unlike its BZ sibling, the Woodland trim comes standard with conventional all-wheel drive. Equipped with two powerful electric motors, Toyota’s latest electric vehicle delivers a robust 375 horsepower, a notable 37-horsepower increase over its all-wheel-drive variant of the bZ4X electric SUV, which boasts a respectable 338 horsepower.

This rugged vehicle also boasts enhanced capabilities, featuring up to 3,500 pounds of towing capacity, an impressive 8.3 inches of ground clearance, and the option for All-Terrain tires that can handle even the most challenging terrain?

The BRZ Woodland’s design takes inspiration from Toyota’s “hammerhead entrance finish” with a sleek, full-length LED light bar, while introducing a unique touch through the addition of black overfenders and an aggressive, imposing stance that commands attention on the road.

The electrically powered outdoor-oriented SUV boasts a lengthened design of approximately six inches, thereby expanding the cargo capacity by a substantial 30 cubic feet. With its standard roof rack and rugged 18-inch aluminum wheels, this vehicle exudes a sense of adventure and capability.

Equipped with a robust 74.7 kWh battery, Toyota anticipates the all-electric bZ4X Woodland will boast an impressive driving range of up to 260 miles. Like its parent, the BZ will also feature a local NACS charging port, allowing access to Tesla’s expansive Supercharger network. Capable of rapid recharging via DC Quick Charging, this electric SUV can revitalize its battery from a mere 10% to a robust 80% within a mere half hour.

Different added options, together with battery pre-conditioning and Plug & Cost capabilities, enhance charging efficiency whereas making it simple to seek out and navigate to stations.

The interior design closely resembles that of Toyota’s other electric vehicle models, featuring two 14-inch display screens for both infotainment and driver information. Toyota’s advanced Audio Multimedia system seamlessly integrates with your smartphone to deliver enhanced infotainment features, effortlessly supporting both standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionalities.

The BZ Woodland trim offers heated SofTex-trimmed seats for both the driver and front passenger, with options for Stone Brown or Black upholstery.

The bZ Woodland Premium package upgrade offers a premium JBL Audio System, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a front heating function for enhanced comfort.

The Toyota bz Woodland joins the 2026 C-HR and bz electric SUVs as the automaker’s third electrified offering in the US market. Scheduled to arrive at dealerships by early 2026. Toyota will disclose pricing details closer to the vehicle’s market debut, but preliminary estimates suggest that the revamped off-road-focused Woodland trim level may carry a starting price tag of approximately $50,000? Verify the official costs once more.
