NIO has unveiled refreshed versions of its ES6, EC6, ET5, and ET5T models, with pre-order availability commencing on May 10. The revamped lineup is built upon the robust NT2.5 platform, introducing significant updates to its interior layout, user interface, and powertrain architecture. Luxury automotive brand Showrooms are expected to establish a significant presence across China in the near future, marking a major milestone in their global expansion strategy.

NIO highlights a significant update: the revamped interior now focuses on a horizontally-oriented touchscreen interface, mirroring the design found in its ET9 sedan. The cabin now features a newly located gear selector situated on the steering column, thereby liberating valuable space within the centre console area. The innovative design incorporates dual Wi-Fi charging pads equipped with advanced cooling technology and cup holders featuring sleek, sliding covers, prioritizing user comfort throughout daily activities.

Minor exterior revisions enable distinct differentiation between modern and previous models. The entrance now features a revised finish, boasting narrower daytime running lights seamlessly integrated into newly designed headlight clusters. Significant modifications to the vehicle’s bodywork have been implemented to optimize its aerodynamic performance and reduce drag.

The ES6 and EC6 employ a dual-motor powertrain configuration. The system boasts a 150 kW AC asynchronous motor at its entrance and a 210 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor at its rear, yielding a total output of 490 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque.
The EC6 offers three battery options, boasting an impressive CLTC-estimated range of up to 935 kilometres for its 150-kilowatt-hour variant.

NIO plans to continue offering its innovative Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme, allowing customers to lease battery packs rather than purchasing them upfront. This arrangement caters to customers seeking a lower upfront purchase price.

The modifications across four styles prioritize usability, diversity, and interface improvements. While maintaining consistency with previous designs and technical specifications, the 2024 refresh incorporates improvements to address customer feedback and harmonize features more closely with existing models within Nio’s current lineup.
