BYD sold nearly million passenger vehicles in Q1, up 60%. Export is up 111% to a new record-high

BYD bought 377,420 EVs globally in March, bringing its first-quarter gross sales to almost a million. The corporate exported 206,084 electrical autos, up 111% from Q1 2024.

In Q1 2025, a Shenzhen-based automaker bought 416,388 passenger BEVs, up 39% from 300,114 in Q1 2024. The BEV gross sales accounted for 42.2%, down from 48.1% in Q1 final yr.

The passenger PHEV gross sales had been 569,710 items, up 76% from 324,284 in Q1 2024. The PHEV gross sales accounted for 57.8%, up from 51.9%.

BYD ceased manufacturing of the ICE-only autos in April 2022 and sells solely battery electrical autos (BEVs) and plug-in electrical autos (PHEVs)

BYD bought 3 million autos in 2023, 4.3 million in 2024 and is anticipated to ship round 5.5 million items in 2025 and 6.5 million in 2026.

In March 2025, BYD bought 377,420 autos. Of it, 371,419 had been passenger automobiles, up 15% from February and 23.1% from final yr.

BYD produced 395,091 autos in March, up 33% from 296,253 items final yr. The distinction between manufacturing and gross sales is 17,671 autos.

  • Yangwang: 133 items
  • Fang Cheng Bao: 8,051 items (+126% YoY)
  • Denza: 12,620 items (+22.8% YoY)

In Q1 2025, BYD bought 990,711 passenger autos globally, up 58.7% from 624,398 items in Q1 2024.

Yr-to-date, BYD bought 1,000,804 autos, of which 986,098 had been passenger automobiles.

As of March 2025, cumulative gross sales of BYD electrical autos surpassed 11.6 million, the corporate introduced immediately.
