Uncovered photographic evidence reveals the Denza sports car, previously spotted last month, has finally been laid bare. This is a production version of the BYD Fang Cheng Bao Super 9 concept car unveiled last year, a sleek two-door sports vehicle. Chinese language media outlets are reporting a stark contrast between the Emira, a luxury sports car from Lotus, and their own expectations. According to reports, they believe the Emira will be priced significantly lower than half its actual value.
The Denza brand’s highly anticipated sports activity vehicle is slated for a grand unveiling at the Shanghai Auto Show in April. This iconic Chinese-Nissan collaboration is expected to spearhead export efforts.
Reviews note that the vehicle’s efficiency is comparable to that of a Porsche 911. Chinese language media suggests a four-seat configuration for the automobile, but at Automobile Information China, we take issue with the sharply sloping roofline behind the B-pillar, which casts doubt on this assumption. The Tremendous 9 concept, initially a solo vehicle, evolved into a sleek two-seat design.
The spy photographs suggest that the latest model of the automobile is surprisingly diminutive in size. Although still a work in progress, the car spotted looks even more substantial than in previous images.
The sleekly designed entrance features numerous strategically positioned air vents. Due to the angles of the windshield and rear cover, the passenger compartment forms a naturally occurring bubble. At the rear, a sleek ducktail spoiler neatly wraps around the tailgate, completing the automobile’s profile.
The spy photographs reveal an unusual automotive design, with a low profile and oversized wheels. Despite their compact appearance, the overhangs at both entrances and rear are remarkably diminutive, with the wheelbase dominating a substantial portion of the vehicle’s overall dimensions.
Surprisingly, this automobile lacks forward-facing cameras but features traditional rearview and side mirrors instead. Despite this, hidden door handles help reduce drag.
While the camouflage conceals the brand-new automobile’s true identity, its distinctive design echoes Denza’s signature style, leading many to speculate that it might indeed bear the Denza badge. The potential exists for the vehicle to employ the Denza e3 (Yi san fang) platform in its design.
As a flagship model, the sports car is expected to feature a powerful three-motor configuration similar to those found in the Z9 GT and N9 SUV models. The vehicle features a single motor mounted at the front axle and individual motors on each of the rear wheels.
The concept design for the manufacturing prototype is likely to have been previously visualized by Speedsters, as an affiliate of Velocity.
Autohome claims the car will be priced around 300,000 yuan ($40,900); however, we at Automobile Information China believe this is an unrealistically low estimate and anticipate prices to be substantially higher, likely hovering around 500,000 yuan ($68,200).
If costs are indeed that low, the vehicle may not be perceived as a luxury car, allowing it to rival the MG Cyberster, whose base price in China starts at 319,800 yuan or $43,600.
