By the end of 2025, Zeekr intends to officially establish itself in the South Korean market, rolling out both the Zeekr 007 and Zeekr X models. The company is currently in talks with five South Korean automotive manufacturers.

According to Lee Chung-gu, director at the Jeonbuk Institute of Automotive Convergence Technology, Tesla’s triumph in the Korean market underscores the demand for premium electric vehicles. Chinese companies are poised to make inroads with their advanced electric vehicles, which are expected to captivate the attention of tech-savvy Korean consumers. Chinese-language automakers, including BYD, are increasingly entering the Korean market.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Zeekr would be setting up an office in South Korea during the second half of 2024, with a dedicated head appointed through Hyundai’s Zeekr Korea Project. The chosen individual is Kim Nam-ho, formerly the product supervisor at BMW Korea and final sales supervisor at Polestar Korea.

Zeekr has announced plans to establish showrooms in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province by mid-2025, with deliveries to customers set to commence as early as Q1 2026.

To date, Zeekr has successfully expanded its footprint into six new markets, including Thailand, Singapore, the Netherlands, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.

In December 2024, Zeekr delivered 27,190 vehicles, representing a staggering 102% year-over-year surge, thereby propelling its full-year output to 222,123 units, an impressive 87% increase from the previous year. On January 2, An Conghui, president of Geely and CEO of Zeekr, announced plans to boost the brand’s gross sales in 2025 by a significant 100,000 units, targeting an annual total of approximately 320,000 vehicles.

By way of product planning, Zeekr will continuously iterate and refresh its current offerings, including the upcoming launch of a station wagon, dubbed “liezhuang” or “looking car,” built on the Zeekr 007 platform in the second quarter of 2025. Moreover, a flagship SUV is expected to debut in the third quarter, while a medium-to-large luxury SUV is anticipated to hit the market by the end of the year. SUVs are expected to come with both pure electric and hybrid options.
