In November, China’s passenger automobile market saw retail sales of 2.424 million units, representing a 7.2% month-over-month increase and a 16.6% year-on-year surge; cumulative sales for the first eleven months reached 20.258 million units. Gross sales for November showed significant figures: sedans reached 1.12 million units, SUVs achieved 1.20 million units, while MPVs sold a respectable 104,000 units. In November, auto wholesale shipments totaled approximately 3.316 million units.

For five consecutive months, the retail penetration rate of new energy vehicles (NEVs) has surpassed the 50% mark, with a notable high of 52.3% in November alone. Retail sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) surged to 1.268 million units, a 5.9% monthly gain and a whopping 50.5% year-over-year increase; conversely, retail sales of traditional gasoline-powered cars rose by 8.0% month-on-month but plummeted 7.0% year-over-year.

According to recent data on China’s auto market, the BYD Seagull led the pack in terms of individual car retail sales, boasting an impressive figure of over 56,000 units sold. Among the top 20 best-selling gasoline-powered vehicles globally, the Nissan Sylphy, Volkswagen Lavida, Volkswagen Passat, and Volkswagen Sagitar stood out. Nineteen general fashion collections surpassed the 10,000-unit threshold, with twenty-six exceeding the 20,000-unit milestone, and a remarkable eight reaching above the 30,000-unit mark.

Notwithstanding the growing popularity of new energy vehicles (NEVs), traditional gasoline-powered automobiles saw a decline in retail sales from January to November, with 10.663 million units sold, representing a year-on-year drop of 15.0% and accounting for 52.6% of the market share; in contrast, NEVs witnessed a significant increase of 41.2%, with 9.594 million units retailed, accounting for 47.4% of the market share?
