Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 electric crossover saw a strong start to its US market debut, with the automaker reporting over 7,000 units sold in November.

With a staggering 76,008 vehicles sold in November, Hyundai’s remarkable US sales streak shows no signs of abating. Hyundai Motor America’s CEO, Randy Parker, attributed the surging interest in electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid cars to the company’s expanded offerings.

South Korean automaker Hyundai has witnessed a significant surge in electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid sales, with its EV gross sales increasing by 77% year-over-year. Meanwhile, hybrid sales have seen an even more impressive jump of 104%, indicating a growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles. Electric vehicle, plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, and hybrid variants drove a remarkable 92% surge in overall retail sales for the entire previous month.

A record-breaking number of Hyundai’s most popular models – including the Santa Fe HEV, Tucson PHEV, Tucson HEV, and IONIQ 5 – collectively achieved their highest monthly sales figures ever recorded.

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 remains a top-performing electric vehicle in the US market. Last month, Hyundai sold a total of 4,989 IONIQ 5 models, a significant surge of more than 110% compared to the 2,372 units sold in November 2023, and a notable 11% increase from the previous report in October.
