Xiaomi SUV interior details exposed as car gets ready for launch

Recently, additional footage and data have surfaced regarding the impending arrival of Xiaomi’s MX11 SUV. Notably, we’re gaining insight into the intricacies of what lies within. An initial teaser suggested a distinct middle console compared to the SU7, and fresh information confirms that the interior of the SUV will undergo a significant transformation altogether.

Against the backdrop of nightfall, a glimpse into the interior of a sleek automobile is afforded through an open window, its occupants’ presence subtly hinted at. A slender digital strip stretches across the dashboard’s expanse. According to patent records, this feature is commonly referred to as the ‘first show’, designed to enable drivers to access vehicle information and promote road safety by facilitating their understanding of crucial car data. Is the system capable of functioning alongside larger infotainment displays, or will it replace them?

Newly surfaced online images, reportedly depicting the SUV’s door panels, have sparked interest in the vehicle’s design. There are two distinct shell colour variants, a rich, earthy bone snail purple and a vibrant red-orange hue. The doorways can be easily accessed by pressing a button on the door handle, with a mechanical override available in the storage compartment for added security.

The teaser image appears to reveal that the latest Xiaomi model features a distinctive halogen or semi-halogen lighting design at the rear, showcased through an evening photography session of the vehicle’s charging process. The Xiaomi SUV features a sleek design with a lower profile and an elongated front fascia. While aiming for a design similar to the Xiaomi SU7 is reasonable, it is crucial that the product does not become a mere copycat and rather strives to innovate and improve upon what already exists.

It’s likely that there will be both single-motor and dual-motor configurations for the SUV, mirroring the arrangement found in the SU7. It is explicitly stated that all single-motor variants will feature a 220 kW electric motor coupled to the rear axle, capable of delivering a maximum torque of 400 Nm. The dual-motor model boasts a potent combination of power and traction, featuring a 220 kW electric motor delivering 338 Nm of torque at the front axle and a 275 kW electric motor producing 500 Nm of torque at the rear axle.

The Tesla Model S offers three distinct battery pack options: a 73.6-kilowatt-hour (kWh), a 94.3-kilowatt-hour (kWh) variant, and the largest of the trio at 101 kWh. The possibility exists that identical battery packs may be utilized in the SUV. Two compact packs employ lithium iron phosphate technology, while the largest utilises NCM battery chemistry.

The Xiaomi SUV is expected to debut in the initial quarter of 2025, with a keen eye on the launch template set by the successful SU7.
