The Jaguar i-PACE is poised to be a thrill ride among next year’s all-electric vehicles. The design of this innovative concept has garnered widespread acclaim, boasting specifications comparable to top-tier all-electric vehicles intended for production between 2018 and 2019.

As the highly anticipated production model’s debut approaches within just a few short months, Auto Categorical has caught sight of a prototype boasting the final manufacturing design, as depicted above.

British automaker Jaguar has been showcasing its I-PACE concept on city streets, including those in London, as seen in our full gallery.

Despite its camouflage, the prototype appears to be a manufacturing-ready model, suggesting a high level of development and production-readiness.

Jaguar previously hinted that the concept will closely mirror their production strategy, given their aim for a relatively swift manufacturing timeline. The primary prototype debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2016, with a planned production model reveal anticipated by the end of 2017 or as early as September’s Frankfurt Motor Show, according to industry sources and the manufacturer itself, which also targets the second half of 2018 for mass production.

The I-PACE comes equipped with a 90 kWh battery pack, boasting an impressive NEDC-rated range of over 500 kilometres. Curiously, the automaker has officially confirmed that its electric vehicle is capable of covering a dedicated range of approximately 220 miles on EPA test cycles.

Currently, they’re primarily discussing 50 kW DC rapid charging, a capability that’s more accurately described as expedient rather than truly swift. I hope the warning signs would have been recognized sooner before the car factory was damaged.

The value of the product lies primarily in its exceptional charging capabilities, with the longevity of that feature being the greatest variable.

Expected to command a luxury price tag. According to industry experts, Jaguar is expected to aggressively target the Tesla Model X, Audi e-tron quattro, and other forthcoming electric SUVs, including Mercedes EQ Technology, over the next two years.

The all-new gasoline-powered Jaguar F-Pace SUV debuts with a base price of $42,000, while the electric I-PACE variant is expected to start at around $70,000 before EV incentives are factored in.
