The Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition 2024 officially launched on November 15th. The event showcased a diverse collection of 1,171 vehicles, including 512 cutting-edge new energy-powered automobiles (NEVs). Spanning 220,000 sq. At the recent exhibition, attendees were treated to a remarkable showing of innovative designs, with no less than 78 groundbreaking models making their global debut.

By showcasing its extensive battery-electric vehicle (NEV) lineup on this occasion, BYD displayed innovative designs across various sub-brands. Among the models showcased were the Xia MPV, featuring adjustable third-row seating; the Yangwang U7, available in both electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) configurations; and the Denza Z9, equipped with advanced connectivity features. For the first time in October, BYD’s gross sales surpassed 500,000 units, representing significant strides in new energy vehicle (NEV) uptake.

At BAIC’s exhibition, a standout attraction was the “3X3” Magnecore Electrical Drive, which garnered attention alongside the BJ30 and BJ60 Thunder models in an immersive off-road enthusiast zone. The Vice President, Peng Gang, emphasized that the innovative solution boosts off-road performance through the strategic integration of advanced electric drive technologies. As the automotive industry shifts toward premiumisation, improved quality and value-focused compact cars, BAIC aims to expand its electrical off-road offerings to meet growing demand from diverse customers.

Chinese language producers have focused on incorporating contemporary technological advancements.

Baojun unveiled the Yep EV, featuring a pioneering four-wheel independent drive system that enables unique capabilities, including lateral driving – the updated Yep Plus 2025 model also boasts advanced driver-assistance features for navigating urban routes.

GAC Honda unveiled its inaugural electric vehicle (EV) sub-brand, “YeP”, featuring the production-ready YeP7, which boasts innovative, bias-free suspension and chassis refinements.

Dongfeng Nissan has unveiled its latest innovation, the N7 electric sedan, with plans to hit the market in 2025. The automobile features advanced sensing technology and a powerful processor, designed to enhance driving comfort and performance.

The event also showcased advancements in innovative technologies and cutting-edge materials. Baidu’s Jiyue collaboration with Geely unveiled the Robo-X concept car, featuring cutting-edge carbon fibre construction and AI-driven interfaces to elevate user interaction.

The auto-present is expected to generate significant interest among shoppers and drive sales throughout the year-end season. The report summarised key advancements over the past year, simultaneously exploring innovations that are poised to impact the industry in 2025.
