NIO’s Onvo vice president of merchandise, Eric Yu, has officially confirmed that the company’s second model will be a large-scale SUV featuring six or seven seating positions within. Launched to the market in the first quarter of 2025, marking a significant milestone in its development timeline. Deliveries of the second-generation Onvo electric vehicle are expected to commence around next year.

The ONVO is an electric vehicle model developed by NIO, which debuted this year. The manufacturer’s initial prototype is an L60 fastback SUV designed to rival the Tesla Model Y. The company commenced shipping its products in late September. Cumulative deliveries from September to October totalled 5,151 models. At this juncture, the Onvo Vice President of Merchandise revealed additional specifics regarding the model’s sophomore automotive offering. The company plans to enter the market next year.

Extra about Onvo’s second mannequin

Eric Yu, vice president of merchandise at Onvo, revealed a wealth of information regarding the company’s second-generation model during the Guangzhou Auto Show 2024. Throughout his interview with Autohome, Mr. Onovo claims to manufacture cars specifically designed for residential use. Sometime in the near future, Onvo is poised to introduce a new product annually. The brand’s next-generation model will soon make its debut in the domestic market.

As discussed, the Onvo second-generation automotive is a large Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) that accommodates six or seven passengers. Onovo plans to officially debut its product by the first quarter of 2025. Eric Yu discussed how the event’s crossover mechanics function seamlessly. The all-new mannequin is set to start deliveries around May next year. Eric Yu has yet to disclose the Onvo’s crossover value. Although the Onvo massive SUV is expected to debut at a significantly lower price point than 500,000 yuan ($69,000 USD), reportedly under $69,000 USD, this strategic move aims to avoid direct competition with Nio’s ES8 flagship crossover in the Chinese market.

The Onvo L60 is priced between 206,900 and 255,900 yuan (approximately 28,550 to 35,300 USD) in its Chinese market.

With the advent of Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), Chinese automakers can now offer their vehicles at a starting price of 149,900 yuan (approximately $20,700 USD) without a battery included.

By the end of 2025, Onvo aims to establish a robust network of approximately 800 to 1,000 operational workshops, according to Xchuxing reports. Nio currently boasts an impressive network of 564 stores across China.
