Audi expands its collaboration with SAIC, introducing a novel model under the rebranded name AUDI, sans the iconic “4 Rings” insignia. The unveiling of the latest Audi concept, provisionally dubbed the Audi E, took center stage at a recent Audi launch event. Audi aims to introduce three standalone electric models in collaboration with SAIC, built upon a novel, high-tech digital platform over the next three years.
The all-new Audi model stands alongside its standard four-ring counterpart, yet functions independently as a distinct entity. Audi’s fashion line will cater exclusively to the Chinese market, accommodating local demands and preferences. The inaugural collection is slated for a summer 2025 release.
Extra on the AUDI E
The Audi e-tron concept boasts a futuristic brake wagon-inspired design, featuring a roof-integrated lidar sensor, discreetly retractable door handles, and an imposing rear spoiler. The brand-new model embodies a groundbreaking design language that diverges significantly from the traditional Audi aesthetic. The vehicle’s headlights are discreetly positioned beneath the hood, comprising intricately arranged triangular patterns that generate a captivating visual display when activated. They adopt a comparable approach to illuminate the display.
The prominent visual aspect is the boldly lit “AUDI” logo, easily discernible from a distance of up to 120 meters.
The interior of the car features an expansive, consistent display that stretches from pillar to pillar. The digital exterior mirrors are seamlessly integrated into this model’s design. The interior exudes a warm, homey ambiance, characterized by generous use of rich wood tones on door panels and soft, ambient lighting, setting it apart from other Audi models. The central console provides ample storage space for two smartphones.
In the context of China’s growing importance to AUDI, the company has identified intelligence as a crucial area of emphasis. The Audi e-tron is expected to feature Audi OS, a bespoke operating system tailored exclusively for this electric vehicle. The automotive industry can leverage a robust app ecosystem and integrate personalized facial recognition capabilities to create a more unique driving experience for each user? The Audi voice assistant is poised to become a pivotal element in the vehicle’s user experience, serving as a crucial hub of interaction. While certain technological advancements remain under wraps, the auto industry is poised to introduce intelligent driving features, capitalizing on SAIC’s expertise and its extensive experience in new energy vehicles (NEVs).

The Audi A8’s exterior dimensions measure 4,870 millimeters in length, 1,990 millimeters in width, and 1,460 millimeters in height, with a 2,950-millimeter wheelbase. Equipped with a 100-kilowatt-hour ternary lithium battery and an 800-volt architecture, this vehicle boasts a certified laboratory test cycle (CLTC) range exceeding 700 kilometers. The Audi automobile features a unique all-wheel-drive system with two powerful motors, one at the front and one at the rear, and is branded as a Quattro model on the market. According to official statistics, the vehicle achieves a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 3.6 seconds. Furthermore, the vehicle features advanced handling capabilities, including progressive front-wheel drive, intelligent all-wheel drive, and adaptive air suspension.
Audi’s International Chief Executive Officer, Gernot Dollner, has announced that the initial model of the Audi-SAIC collaborative electric vehicle project is set to begin production in the coming weeks. As part of its strategic framework, Audi and SAIC have planned to launch a trio of entirely electric vehicles. “The trio of merchandise represents the fruits of the cooperative agreement between Audi and SAIC, with both parties currently exploring potential future collaborations.” Audi’s future fashion designs are set to be tailored specifically for the Chinese market in partnership with its local partner, FAW-Audi.
This concept car remains on display. By 2025, manufacturing and supply chain initiatives are expected to take shape, boasting an accelerated growth period of approximately 18 months – a substantial improvement over the typical three-year timeline characteristic of the automotive industry. Sooner rather than later, Audi plans to introduce an SUV and a flagship sedan.
