Hyundai IONIQ 5 continues to defy expectations as upgraded 2025 model nears release

Hyundai’s all-electric Ioniq 5 SUV shattered records in the US last month, propelling the model to its strongest October performance on file. As the cutting-edge 2025 model just around the corner, Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 proves its excellence remains unmatched.

The Hyundai IONIQ 5’s impressive debut has exceeded all forecasts with its forthcoming enhancements set to revolutionize the electric vehicle landscape.

Hyundai Motor America reported a significant surge in auto sales for the past month, with a total of 71,802 vehicles sold – an impressive 18% increase over the same period last year, marking its highest October sales figure to date.

The automaker’s achievement was marked by its sister company Kia, which recorded its highest-ever October sales total in the US just days prior.

Hyundai’s electric IONIQ 5 model broke its October sales record, with 4,498 units sold – a 51% year-over-year increase. Hyundai has sold 34,816 IONIQ 5s in the US during its first 10 months of 2024, representing a 23% increase from the previous year.

Hyundai’s standalone electric vehicle, the IONIQ 6, experienced lackluster sales in recent months, with a mere 837 units sold last month. The Hyundai brand’s IONIQ 6 model has maintained a steady pace in the market, boasting a 4% year-over-year increase in sales, with 9,934 units sold as of October.

Despite the unveiling of the enhanced 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 in September, the Korean automaker’s electric SUV continues to attract increasing demand.

Hyundai’s 2025 IONIQ 5 arrives restricted to a Tesla-like Navigation and Charging System (NACS) port, according to the manufacturer.

The revamped mannequin boasts enhancements across the board, featuring increased driving range, a sleek re-designed exterior, and the introduction of a novel XRT trim level. This EV seamlessly integrates with Tesla’s vast Supercharger network through a dedicated NACS (Network Access Control System) port.

Following the launch of production at Metaplant America last month, shipments of the latest model are now imminent. The first Hyundai IONIQ 5 model rolled off the production line in 2025 at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Hyundai notes that its US-manufactured electric vehicles will initially be eligible for a partial $3,750 federal tax credit.

The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 offers a range of driving modes that vary depending on the trim. With its sleek design and advanced technology features, this electric vehicle is sure to turn heads on the road.

The base model, Standard Range, has a single motor producing 168 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It can go from 0-60 mph in 7.4 seconds and has an estimated range of around 150 miles. The Limited trim adds a second motor for all-wheel drive capability, boosting power to 215 horsepower and 392 lb-ft of torque.

The Ultimate trim takes it up another notch with a dual-motor setup, producing 301 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque. This allows the IONIQ 5 to go from 0-60 mph in just 4.8 seconds and achieve an estimated range of around 250 miles.

However, once the battery component is opened up for the next 12 months, the company anticipates that they will be eligible for the full $7,500 incentive?

Hyundai plans to begin delivering its refreshed 2025 Ioniq 5 models later this year. Starting in Fall 2024, all new or refreshed Hyundai electric models sold in Georgia will come equipped with a Tesla Navigation and Charging System (NACS) port.

Hyundai recently unveiled a glimpse of its inaugural three-row electric SUV, the IONIQ 5. It’s likely that the Hyundai Ioniq Electric model will be developed concurrently with the new IONIQ 5 in Georgia.
