May or not it’s? Are you prepared for the Nismo EV that’s finally here? A latest sighting at the Nürburgring has revealed a sleek Nissan Ariya prototype boasting several design elements reminiscent of Nismo’s signature style.
Nissan introduced the Ariya in 2020, marking its first dedicated electric vehicle launch since the groundbreaking LEAF more than a decade earlier. The electric crossover currently peaks at a robust 389 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque.
While an electric Nissan Ariya Nismo prototype might offer significantly more efficiency. It’s possible to achieve similar consistency with the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N (641 horsepower), Kia EV6 GT (576 horsepower), and Tesla Model Y Performance (456 horsepower).
Nismo, the performance-oriented arm of Nissan Motorsports, is renowned for its expertise in optimizing the efficiency and performance of high-performance vehicles such as the iconic Nissan GT-R and 370Z Nismo models.
Nissan’s Nismo division has a wealth of experience in the realm of electric racing cars. Nissan unveiled the LEAF Nismo RC in 2011, showcasing its electric racing credentials as the world’s first fully electric racing car. As the technology continues to evolve beneath development, the electric vehicle is expected to accelerate from 0-62mph in a respectable 6.8 seconds, a performance that, while not particularly impressive by today’s standards, still suggests a promising future for this innovative mode of transportation.
In 2018, Nissan unveiled its latest LEAF Nismo RC, boasting a significant performance boost – a staggering 50% improvement over its predecessor, achieving 0-62mph in just 3.4 seconds, courtesy of a combined 240kW output from its twin electric motor powertrain.

Meanwhile, the imminent arrival of a brand-new Ariya Nismo promises significantly enhanced efficiency compared to its predecessors, thanks to the remarkable advancements in electric vehicle and battery technology since its introduction.
A prototype of the Ariya was spotted in Germany, boasting an array of Nismo-inspired features, including pink-trimmed accents and a sporty lip spoiler adorning both the front and rear sections. With subtle differences visible on the entrance bumper and fenders, as well as revamped side vents. Updates can significantly enhance aerodynamics by optimizing airflow and reducing drag.
While Nissan has yet to officially unveil the Ariya Nismo EV, its recent testing suggests that a formal introduction may be imminent.
