Hyundai Casper EV undercuts gas-powered rivals with new battery lease plan
SHARE

Hyundai persists in offering affordable electric vehicles. Hyundai announces the launch of its new Battery Care Lease plan in South Korea and claims that the Casper EV now rivals gas-powered models in its class regarding pricing.

The Casper Electric is South Korea’s most affordable vehicle option, with a starting price of just $20,000 (approximately 27.4 million won).

Here is the rewritten text:

Hyundai has recently launched its new Casper Electric Premium, which can now be purchased for under $8,000, including a 10-million-won incentive package.

Notwithstanding, Hyundai has made it significantly more affordable. Hyundai revealed on Monday that more than half of customers leasing its Casper Electric vehicles have adopted the brand-new “Battery Care Lease Plan” since its introduction in August.

This system was designed in collaboration with LG Vitality Answers to reduce the barrier for drivers to switch to electric vehicles. By extrapolating the average lifespan of Casper Electrical’s products to around a decade, Hyundai mitigates potential losses through “advance purchase” mechanisms.

Hyundai has introduced that its battery lease program enables customers to enjoy the benefits of the Casper Electric vehicle at a cost-effective price point, comparable to similarly classified internal combustion-powered cars.

South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Group has unveiled a fresh approach to lower the cost of its electric vehicle (EV), the Hyundai Casper EV.

Through the Hyundai Capital app, users can track their vehicle’s battery status, monitor driving and charging patterns, and access additional features.

When drivers successfully complete a lease term and return their vehicle within the allotted timeframe, they are eligible to earn up to $225 in total – equivalent to 300,000 points. According to a Hyundai Capital spokesperson, the newly announced Casper EV battery plan aims to “mitigate the financial strain on customers” by implementing cost-effective measures, with future product additions planned for rollout.

Hyundai announced that its Casper EV may be available for lease at around $200 per month, equivalent to approximately 2.7 million Korean won. At a lower cost than the gas-powered 1.0T Inspiration, this model’s monthly price tag rounds out at approximately $215, equivalent to KRW 287,000.

Hyundai’s entry-level Casper electric vehicle starts at around $20,000, boasting a range of up to 195 miles (315 kilometers), making it an affordable and practical option for daily commuters.

In Europe, this model is commonly referred to as the Hyundai Ioniq Electric. Its WLTP-rated range extends up to an impressive 221 miles (355 km). Hyundai’s new mini electric SUV launches internationally with a starting price of approximately $30,000 (£23,500).

Hyundai has announced that it won’t be bringing its affordable electric vehicle to the US market. Notwithstanding its recent launch, Hyundai has introduced an innovative 13-month lease offer for the 2024 IONIQ 5, dubbed “Extremely-Quick”.
