MINI has launched its inaugural zero-emissions offering, the MINI John Cooper Works, a sporty iteration of the iconic MINI Cooper, at the recent Paris motor show.

The Mini Cooper SE’s sleek design and robust powertrain make it an attractive option compared to its more conservative counterpart.

As MINI prepares to launch its first all-electric efficiency EV, it is boasting impressive specifications: 261 horsepower or 190 kW, a 20% increase over the standard model, and 350 Nm of torque, allowing for 0-100 km/h acceleration in under six seconds and a top speed of 125 mph. Equipped with a 54.2 kWh battery pack, this vehicle boasts an impressive range of up to 230 miles on a single charge.

The all-new electric vehicle (EV) also features a motorsport-derived suspension system, as well as an electric boost function providing enhanced power output and a driver-selectable “Go-Kart Mode,” a concept that MINI has been touting for quite some time. The revised text is: What MINI describes as its unique offering is a “stiffer steering response” and heightened accelerator pedal sensitivity, accompanied by “sportier sounds.” The design also tweaks the boxy vehicle to become more aerodynamic, while incorporating bold red, white, and black accents for an undeniably sporty vibe.

MINI has introduced the JCW Aceman alongside its new electrical John Cooper Works model, featuring comparable performance specs: a 0-60mph time of 6.4 seconds and a range of up to 220 miles. The new design features an expanded interior, providing increased space for both passengers and cargo.

Costs will soon be revealed as manufacturing shifts from China to Oxford, England, by 2026. In the final year, BMW announced a significant investment plan for its Mini brand, committing $750 million to its Oxford facility. Following a successful UK launch, it’s probable that these fashion trends will eventually reach the US market.
