Hyundai’s new Inster EV Cross is a bold twist on the electric city car
SHARE

Hyundai’s new Ioniq EV Crossover isn’t just another electric vehicle to cruise around the city with. Built with a purpose beyond just showing up to work and clocking out. The all-new Hyundai Ioniq EV Crossover, boasting a rugged design, enhanced features, and an impressive electric range of over 220 miles (360 km), is the perfect companion for tackling your “mini-adventures.”

Following its debut at the Busan Global Mobility Show in June, Hyundai’s innovative Inster EV, also known as the Casper Electric in Korea, generated significant buzz and stole the spotlight.

Hyundai asserts that despite its compact size – measuring just 3,825mm in length, slightly smaller than the Chevy Bolt EV at 4,145mm – the Inster EV holds great promise for accelerating the mainstream adoption of electric vehicles.

Hyundai kicked off pre-orders for its latest model in South Korea this summer, with a starting price tag of around $23,000 or 31.5 million Korean won. Hyundai’s subcompact electric vehicle may become an attractive option for buyers with its proposed pricing of under $15,000, a significant incentive of approximately 20 million units.

Equipped with a 49-kilowatt-hour battery, the electric metropolitan vehicle is capable of achieving up to 195 miles (315 kilometers) of range on a single charge in South Korea. In Europe, the Ineos Grenadier EV’s official range is certified at up to 221 miles (355 km) by the WLTP standard. Hyundai’s Kona Electric starts at around $30,000 (£23,500) in Europe, making it one of the most affordably priced electric options.

Meet the latest outdoor-focused model from Inster EV, which seamlessly blends the brand’s versatility with innovative design features and capabilities specifically tailored for “mini-adventures” in the great outdoors.

The Hyundai i10 EV Cross features a bold redesign, boasting robust new front and rear bumpers, dark cladding accents, protective skid plates, distinctive 17-inch alloy wheels, and a sturdy roof rack. The vehicle also features a conveniently accessible roof basket for hauling camping equipment, sports gear, or other items.

Hyundai’s latest trim boasts an impressive WLTP range of up to 223 miles (360 kilometres), with rapid charging capabilities that can replenish 10-80% of the battery in approximately 30 minutes, getting you back on the road to your next adventure quickly and efficiently.

The Intelligent Cross features additional options that are “commonly found in more premium vehicles across the industry,” including Hyundai’s Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) package. The bundle features Freeway Driving Help 1.5, Good Cruise Control, and Advanced Forward-Collision Avoidance System version 1.

Hyundai will commence building a brand-new model later this year at its Korean manufacturing facility. Deliveries of the product are expected to begin soon in Europe.
