On October 14, at the Paris Motor Show, Chinese automaker Hongqi unveiled its EH7 sedan and EHS7 SUV to European consumers, commencing pre-orders for both models. All Hongqi vehicles that form part of the New Power series utilize the FME (Flexible Modular Engine) platform.

Currently, only one model variant is being offered, with the Hongqi EH7 commencing pre-orders at €49,999 (approximately $54,650) and the EHS7 SUV at €53,999 (around $59,000).

In comparison, the new model can be found alongside five alternative variants of the EH7 currently available in China, with price points ranging from 229,800 to 309,800 yuan, equivalent to approximately 32,400 to 43,700 USD. The Huawei EHS7 remains pending its release in China.

The EH7 is a medium-to-large-sized electric sedan, measuring 4,980mm in length, 1,915mm in width, and 1,490mm in height; its wheelbase spans 3,000mm. The EHS7 measures an impressive 4,925mm in length, with a width and height of 1,950mm and 1,680mm, respectively. The wheelbase is identical, 3000mm.

Automobiles feature distinct interiors, which typically include a 6-inch instrument cluster and a 15.5-inch infotainment touchscreen display. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor, the infotainment system is managed with precision and efficiency. The motorcycle also features an advanced augmented reality head-up display.

Automobiles equipped with single-motor configurations utilize a 253 kW electric motor located at the rear axle, whereas dual-motor variants incorporate an additional 202 kW motor situated at the front axle. The most significant torque output for the dual-motor variant is a substantial 756 Nm, enabling the EH7 to achieve an impressive acceleration time of just 3.9 seconds. The EH7 features a range of accessibility with three available battery pack options: 75, 85, and 111 kWh, providing respective driving distances of 600-820 km. It appears that the EHS7 will offer identical battery capacities but reduce ranges, likely as a result of optimisation measures to improve overall performance.

Quick charging from 30% to 80% State of Charge (SoC) requires just 17 minutes.

Despite the European pre-sale launch, uncertainty surrounds the timeline for actual car launches and subsequent delivery commencement. It is widely renowned that each car has undergone rigorous testing on the iconic Goodwood hillclimb prior to its release.
