The XPeng P7+, an electric liftback, has already piled up with orders from customers before its official launch in October.

To accelerate growth and enhance overall profitability, we aim to achieve these BEV goals and fuel the success of our Mona M03 sedan following its successful market introduction.

Xpeng is probably one of the earliest Chinese electric vehicle (NEV) startups, founded as early as 2014. Despite this, China’s gross sales quantities have remained unsatisfactory so far. According to a CarNewsChina analysis, Xpeng has achieved just 34.3% of its projected annual sales volume, a 12.7 percentage point decline from its usual target accomplishment rate. Xpeng is poised to elevate the scenario with two new fashion statements: the recently unveiled Mona M03, boasting impressive specifications, and the highly anticipated P7+, set to make a bold entrance.

Electric vehicle (EV) demand has cooled in China, with Xpeng P7+ inventory piling up at dealerships, sources said. The move comes as the government’s purchase incentives for EVs have expired and consumers have become more cautious about spending amid concerns over rising costs of living.

Recently, clandestine images surfaced online, showcasing a fleet of P7+ liftbacks parked near Xpeng’s manufacturing facility. Notified vehicles come in two exterior colour options: silver and light green. Beforehand, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced the P7+, featuring a distinctive purple hue, which was presumably used to secure the necessary sales permit.

Xpeng has started building up a stockpile of P7+ sedans ahead of its official sales debut, slated for this month. Despite being a budget-friendly option, Xpeng’s recent transfer is notable, considering they struggled to keep pace with the overwhelming demand for the newly released Mona M03. The P7+ models showcased boast dark-roofed exteriors and substantial wheel rims. The Xpeng P7+ does not disclose specific information regarding its trim levels. While we assume the batch of noticed vehicles consists exclusively of high-end models. These demonstration units can be effectively used to showcase the models in their showrooms.

Extra about Xpeng P7+

The XPeng P7+ is a spacious and sleek liftback sedan featuring a streamlined design. This behemoth measures an impressive 50.56 cm tall, 19.37 cm wide, and 15.12 cm deep, with a substantial wheelbase spanning 30 cm. While it’s 168mm longer than the P7i sedan (refer to specifications for details), this measurement enhances overall readability. A low beltline and a slanted roof design significantly reduced the drag coefficient of this liftback. Consequently, its energy consumption per 100 kilometers totals 11 kilowatt-hours. The Tesla Model 3’s energy consumption is a relatively modest 14.4 kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers.

Xpeng P7+

The XPeng P7+, as listed by the China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), is equipped with a sole electric motor. The entry-level automobile boasts a peak power output of 180 kilowatts, equivalent to 241 horsepower. An additional highly effective variant features a powerful electric motor capable of producing 230 kW (308 horsepower). Two LFP battery options are available for the P7+: a 60.7 kWh variant, offering an estimated driving range of up to 575 kilometers based on the Chinese LCTC test cycle; alternatively, a larger 76.3 kWh battery is also offered, providing a driving range of up to 685 kilometers under the same CLTC testing conditions.
