Buy a brand-new Ford EV and receive a complimentary residential charger as part of their innovative “Ford Energy Promise” initiative, aimed at dispelling misconceptions surrounding electric vehicles while simplifying the transition to eco-friendly driving.
“Not a mere nervousness, but a transformational nervousness,” Martin Delonis, Ford’s Senior Supervisor of Enterprise Innovation and E-Marketing, explained.
Ford uncovered that consumers wavering over purchasing an electric vehicle were primarily concerned with range anxiety, affordability, and durability.
Despite these efforts, many of the underlying concerns remain unaddressed. According to research by Ford, the majority of electric vehicles (EVs) tend to depreciate more quickly than their gasoline-powered counterparts.
Another concern about varying range is alleviated by Ford’s F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E – along with many electric vehicles – offering an estimated driving distance of over 300 miles according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
To address these concerns, Ford introduced its innovative “Ford Energy Promise” initiative. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between public perceptions of electric vehicles (EVs) and reality. Ford is focusing on five key areas: Vibration, Charging Efficiency, Battery Health, Home Charging, and Scheduling?
Ford offers a complimentary home EV charging station as part of its Energy Promise.
Starting October 1, 2024, all new buyers of Ford’s electric vehicles—the F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, and E-Transit—will receive a complimentary residential electric vehicle charger. To further enhance the offer, Ford also includes coverage for traditional setup costs. The supply chain plays a crucial role in enabling Ford’s transition to electric vehicles by streamlining the process for customers to adopt this new technology.
According to a 2024 survey by Ford, nearly nine out of ten (89%) electric vehicle (EV) buyers typically prefer purchasing an EV if they have access to home charging infrastructure. Meanwhile, a staggering 92% of homeowners have found that home charging is as effortless as recharging their smartphones.
Much like Ford, many motorists remain unaware of the genuine benefits that come with driving an electric vehicle. One of the most significant expenses is growing daily, with the potential to cost an arm and a leg at home.
With Ford’s electric vehicles, drivers gain access to its expansive BlueOval Charge network, the largest in North America, boasting more than 75,000 charging stations. The Model 3 Long Range and Performance variants will also charge at Tesla’s Supercharger network with the use of an NACS adapter.
Ford is introducing a comprehensive approach by offering an 8-year, 100,000-mile warranty on batteries, alleviating concerns about their longevity.
Additionally, Ford offers 24/7 live electric vehicle support and proactive roadside assistance for around-the-clock assistance.
