Following reports of 13 instances of battery fires, Stellantis is issuing a global recall, advising homeowners to park their vehicles outdoors and at least 100 feet away from any structures until a repair can be performed. Additionally, owners are instructed to avoid charging their vehicles until the issue is resolved.

Stellantis announced a recall affecting 154,032 vehicles sold in the US market, with an additional 14,038 units in Canada, 673 in Mexico, and 25,502 beyond North America. These collections embody the essence of 2020-2024 and 2022-2024 fashion trends respectively. According to Stellantis’ assessment, roughly five per cent of the vehicles affected by the recall may possess the defective attribute.

According to data unavailable from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) at the time of publication, Stellantis attributed the recall to findings from an internal investigation that revealed.

Clients who have been directly impacted by an issue will receive timely notifications regarding scheduling options for necessary services. Homeowners seeking assistance with their Jeep vehicle can reach out directly to the brand’s customer support line at 1-800-853-1403, or visit Stellantis’ dedicated recall webpage to access additional information and resources.

While charging infrastructure for Stellantis vehicles is being developed, the company is cautioning homeowners to avoid draining the battery power, as this can have negative effects on vehicle performance and overall battery life. While constructing a new home, the automobile manufacturer advises homeowners to park their vehicles away from construction sites and other cars temporarily.

Jeep unveiled its innovative Wrangler 4xe model in 2020, propelling it to become the top-selling plug-in hybrid in the United States. The introduction of the 2024 model year’s base trim for the Wrangler 4xe resulted in a price reduction, making it more accessible to customers. A new plug-in hybrid powertrain, designed to preserve the iconic off-road capabilities of a Jeep, debuted on the 2022 midsize Grand Cherokee. Jeep has officially confirmed that a Gladiator 4xe pickup variant is set to hit the market in late 2025.
