SHARE

Segway is the global leader in personal electric transportation solutions. Innovative companies have successfully created self-balancing scooters, two of the most sought-after modes of transportation for commuters, having also developed high-end models like the GT1 and GT2, priced at around £200. Despite efforts to create an off-road capable scooter, Segway Ninebot has thus far been unsuccessful in producing one. Till now.

The newly released Segway ZT3 Professional marks a significant milestone as the first off-road capable scooter to boast the renowned reliability of a Segway. The scooter boasts a powerful single rear motor producing 650 watts of nominal power and a whopping 1600 watts in boost mode, making it capable of effortlessly performing impressive stunts – including the possibility of popping a wheelie if not handled carefully.

The e-bike boasts a comprehensive suspension system featuring a motorcycle-inspired front fork and a solitary rear shock absorber. The ZT3 boasts substantial 11-inch hybrid off-road tyres, designed to tackle demanding terrain with confidence and traction. So, once you’ve gathered everything you need to venture out into the dirt? Obtaining a significantly larger battery and exceeding the speed capabilities of the Segway Max G2, this model boasts enhanced performance.

Before you get too excited, let me clarify what the ZT3 Professional is not. This is a successor to the Porsche GT1 or GT2 series of sports cars. Considering its high velocity of 24.7 mph and pre-order value of nearly $950, this off-road model could serve as a relatively swifter alternative to the Max G2.

Despite the ZT3’s numerous upgrades, its array of latest features truly impressed us, with performance evaluations that exceeded our expectations. With its advanced capabilities in enhance mode, the Segway ZT3 Professional boasts the fastest acceleration and hill-climbing speeds we’ve tested among single-motor electric scooters to date.

This innovative electric scooter boasts cutting-edge engineering typically reserved for higher-priced models, delivering exceptional performance at an affordable under-$1,000 price point.
