The highly anticipated Toyota electric crossover SUV is poised to make its global debut in the world’s biggest electric vehicle (EV) market. The Toyota bZ4X’s Chinese-market variant, the bZ3C, has been spotted leaking online, showcasing a familiar design profile. A pioneering electric crossover SUV has been co-developed with BYD, a leading Chinese electrification company.

A leak reveals Toyota’s new electric SUV in China: Toyota bZ3C.

Toyota unveiled its bZ3 concept at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show in April. The all-electric crossover was unveiled shortly after the larger-than-life bZ3X, a family-friendly SUV perfect for household use.

The Baojun e3X was developed through the collaborative efforts of BYD and Toyota’s electric vehicle and battery technology joint venture, launched in 2020 to explore innovations in electric cars and batteries. Others, in conjunction with FAW Toyota, have been actively involved throughout the process.

Toyota unveiled the bZ3C, a concept car centered around its “Reboot” vision, which incorporates appealing elements aimed at captivating Generation Z customers.

Compared to its competitors, the BYD Tang X SUV aims to redefine the concept of a “Home Away from Home” by providing a spacious and comfortable environment for families on-the-go. Fashion collections are specifically tailored to meet the unique demands of the Chinese market.

China’s Ministry of Business and Technology has unveiled new details about its latest small crossover SUV.

Toyota is offering optional 21-inch or 18-inch wheels, along with a sleek black rear spoiler, and innovative laser radar technology integrated into the front windshield.

At approximately 4,780 millimeters long, 1,866 millimeters wide, and 1,510 millimeters tall, Toyota’s new electric crossover is comparable in size to Tesla’s Model Y (4,750 mm long by 1,921 mm wide by 1,624 mm tall).

Scheduled to be Toyota’s third electric vehicle to debut in China, succeeding the bZ4X and bZ3. Toyota is poised to unveil its latest offering, the bZ4C, sometime this year. By the end of 2024, manufacturing is set to commence at FAW-Toyota’s plant in Tianjin. While the exact range has not been publicly announced, it is anticipated that the new electric vehicle will boast a driving range of approximately 310-373 miles (500-600 km), as measured by the Chinese Cycle Test Procedure (CLTC).

Toyota’s electric crossover is considered to be the bZ4X. Would you buy one in the United States, Canada, or Europe, where you can easily find authorized retailers and enjoy a seamless customer experience? Leave a note below to share your thoughts.
