With its sleek design and impressive performance capabilities, the BMW R nineT is a blank canvas just begging to be customized by enthusiasts around the globe. Introduced in 2014, this motorcycle pays homage to the iconic BMW boxer engine legacy while offering enthusiasts a blank slate for customization, fulfilling their ultimate creative vision. Zweiradwerke’s team isn’t unfamiliar with revamping the R nineT platform. Drawing cues from the iconic 1970s motorsport era, this Jägermeister M1-inspired custom embodies the spirit of a bygone era with its sleek, retro-futuristic design.
In 1978, BMW created the M1 with a singular goal: to outperform Porsche on the racing circuit. The mid-mounted sports car boasted a lightweight fiberglass shell, a bespoke chassis, and a potent 6-cylinder powerplant. The M1 was the pioneering automotive prototype designed and developed by BMW Motorsport GmbH. A mere 453 M1s were manufactured, complying with the stringent Group-5 regulations that mandated a minimum production run of at least 400 units intended for public roads. Among the total of 453 units built, BMW reserved a special selection of 53 vehicles solely for competitive racing applications.
Unlike its singular counterpart, the Brun Racing iteration boasted a mighty M88 turbocharged six-cylinder DOHC gasoline engine, tweaked to deliver a staggering 1,000 horsepower. Despite its evident promise, the project languished without any significant progress made. For four decades, Fritz Wagner has been a passionate BMW enthusiast, collector, and mechanic. He recently brought his most ambitious project to life – a bespoke M1, meticulously crafted with a Jägermeister-themed livery that pays homage to Brun’s Group C World Championship-winning Porsche 956. The stunning design and impressive performance of the automobiles made them an instant hit among BMW enthusiasts globally.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, much like the iconic Brun racing M1, every component of Zweiradwerke’s Boxermeister has been deliberately designed and flawlessly executed. The bike’s AC Schnitzer lightweight cast wheels, anodized in gleaming gold, pay a deliberate homage to the high-stakes world of motorsport. Wrapped in Metzeler Racetec RR rubber, these wheels offer ample traction, enabling riders to tackle even the most demanding routes with unwavering confidence.
The R nineT’s sleek profile is defined by a bespoke bikini fairing, tail unit, and ergonomic seat, meticulously crafted by the skilled artisans at Zweiradwerke. A carbon-fibre entrance fender, precision-crafted by Ilmberger, provides a sleek backdrop for the carefully calibrated Ohlins forks. The Jekyll and Hyde exhaust system liberates an additional surge of power from the 1,170cc Boxer twin’s impressive output, while offering three electronically managed sound modes to tailor the auditory experience to your mood or environment. The Boxermeister’s handling capabilities have been significantly refined at the rear through the integration of premium components from Ohlins, elevating overall ride dynamics and responsiveness.
To complete its revamped aesthetic, the R nineT’s engine features forged cylinder head covers designed to evoke the iconic BMW 2V style. The Real BMW Choice 719’s adjustable footrests further enhance its sporty persona, harmoniously complemented by the sleek AC Schnitzer clip-on handlebars that amplify its aggressive stance. Lastly, the R nineT was entrusted to a livery that left an immediate impression courtesy of the Jägermeister BMW M1 Pro. Wrapped in a bold, fiery hue and adorned with playful Boxermeister logos and whimsical boxing rabbit graphics, this striking design is destined to leave a lasting impact wherever it roams.
From start to finish, the production of this bicycle took the Zweiradwerke group a total of 90 hours to complete. As a masterclass fusion of timeless style and cutting-edge flair, The Boxermeister embodies the “Timeless meets Trendy” philosophy that underscores each bespoke project from Zweiradwerke. Available now at Zweiradwerke, the Boxermeister is priced competitively at €29,990.
