According to a newly released report from the Tesla supply chain in China, the Tesla Model Y refresh is scheduled for Q1 2025.

Following the Mannequin 3’s successful refresh last year, we’ve been eagerly awaiting a similarly revamped version of the Mannequin Y.

The rumor mill kicked into high gear last year when Reuters reported that Tesla was planning to refresh its Model Y lineup, codenamed “Juniper”, for 2024.

According to a Bloomberg report, Tesla is reportedly planning to release an updated Model Y in mid-2024.

Tesla shuts down rumors. Tesla’s Chief Executive Officer, Elon Musk, has confirmed that there are no plans to refresh the Model Y this year, dispelling speculation about an imminent update. Note that both Tesla and Musk explicitly referenced “this year” in their statement.

While rumors swirled that an update was on the horizon, most were left wondering when exactly they could expect it to arrive – with many assuming it would be sometime in the near future.

As sightings of the Mannequin Y prototype grew more frequent around California this summer, we were able to spot camouflaged units scattered throughout the region.

According to a newly released report from China, citing information from Tesla’s supply chain, it appears that the eagerly anticipated refresh is scheduled to arrive in the first quarter of 2025.

The Tesla Model Y was the globe’s top-selling vehicle in 2022. Tesla reportedly intends to deliver two altered Model Y variants in the upcoming year. Among the offerings, the five-passenger variant of the brand-new Model Y, codenamed “Juniper,” is expected to arrive in the first quarter, while the seven-passenger version is forecasted for delivery in the fourth quarter.

Reports suggest that on top of the refreshed Model Y, Tesla is planning to start production of a seven-seat Model Y at Gigafactory Shanghai soon.

A three-row, seven-seat variant of the Mannequin Y is currently available in the US market, but a revised version is expected to debut for Asian and European customers.

The latest updates introduced on the Mannequin 3 will indeed be carried over to its successor, the Mannequin Y, echoing previous stories and reinforcing this notion.
