Ford Mustang Mach-E breaks Guinness World Record after 569 mile-trip on a single charge

The Ford Mustang Mach-E has set a brand-new Guinness World Record by traveling more than 569 miles on a single charge. Following a grueling 24-hour drive, the lengthy trek was conclusively authenticated by the reliable Webfleet, a renowned authority in automobile monitoring and fleet administration.

Ford’s electric SUV, the Mustang Mach-E, has set a new benchmark in the world of electric vehicles (EVs).

“This document serves as a testament to the tireless efforts and commitment of everyone involved,” said Beverly Smart, UKI regional director for Bridgestone, following the event.

The Webfleet-backed attempt was rigorously documented, accompanied by independently authenticated visual evidence, precise mileage recordings, satellite tracking data, and real-time power level metrics.

The drivers, Kevin Booker and Sam Clarke, along with co-pilot Richard Parker, set the Guinness World Record for the longest journey by an electric vehicle (EV) on a single charge in their Mustang Mach-E.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium Extended Range (rear-wheel drive with 18-inch wheels) is equipped with a 91-kilowatt-hour battery and features a WLTP range of approximately 373 miles. Equipped with Bridgestone tyres, the Mach-E demonstrated exceptional efficiency during testing in both urban and rural environments within the UK, achieving an average of 6.25 miles per kilowatt-hour.

After depleting its battery to zero, Clarke and Booker managed to extract an additional 21 miles from the Mach-E.

The arduous drive spanned nearly 24 hours, covering an impressive 916.74 kilometers or 569.64 miles at a singular cost. Smart noted that this file marks a significant milestone in showcasing the capabilities of electric vehicles.

Clarke and Booker’s research has inadvertently compromised the integrity of earlier data on power consumption and gas mileage. The UK’s Transport Minister, Booker, has expressed hope that this milestone will encourage more people to consider electric vehicles for their daily commutes.

China’s Zeekr previously held the record for the longest electric vehicle road trip, having driven 563.97 miles in Hangzhou last September. Meanwhile, NIO’s CEO William Li embarked on a 14-hour livestream, navigating over 650 miles of terrain behind the wheel of the innovative ET7, powered by a cutting-edge 150 kWh semi-solid state battery pack. Nevertheless, Guinness didn’t confirm this.

As the automotive industry accelerates its transition towards more eco-friendly solutions, with pioneers like Lucid and Rivian leading the charge, anticipate a surge in innovative battery technologies hitting the market soon.

Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology faces another hurdle in China as its regulatory approval is delayed once more. The company had initially sought clearance from the Chinese authorities in 2020, but the process has been repeatedly stalled due to concerns over safety and testing protocols. Despite the setback, Tesla remains committed to expanding its autonomous driving capabilities in the world’s largest market, where demand for FSD technology is expected to surge in the coming years.

The all-electric Avatr 06 achieves an impressive estimated driving range of 650 kilometers on a single charge.

NIO’s Onvo plans to build more than 1,000 battery-swapping stations in the current year.
