Nio Manufacturing
Miracle Automation has unveiled a groundbreaking concept for a new conveyor tool designed to streamline automated part assembly processes. Although Nio hasn’t officially confirmed the existence of its fourth plant, F4, Miracle Automation claims to have already collaborated with the company on the F4 meeting conveyor line challenge, citing their partnership as evidence of the plant’s legitimacy.
Miracle Automation, a leading automotive solutions provider headquartered in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, collaborates with prominent global brands including Stellantis, BMW, Li Auto, Aiways, and Volkswagen, among others. As early as 1984, the corporation was a pioneer among many medium-to-small companies to list its shares on China’s domestic A-share market.
NIO currently operates two manufacturing facilities in Hefei, Anhui Province. The initial ownership and management of the meeting venue was held by Anhui Jianghuai Vehicle (JAC Group). In late 2023, Nio acquired two strategically located factories, dubbed F1 and F2, thereby gaining autonomy in their manufacturing processes.
For the third quarter of 2023, the company reported a substantial income of 19.07 billion yuan, equivalent to approximately 2.61 billion USD, accompanied by a significant milestone of 55,432 autos delivered during this period. Two large-scale vegetation projects had been purchased for a total of approximately $4.22 billion. The F1 manufacturing facility was jointly established by the company and JAC Group. Within NeoPark, an industrial park jointly established by Nio and the Hefei authorities, a F2 manufacturing unit has been constructed.
NIO has formally confirmed the development of its third manufacturing facility, F3, since June. The plant is expected to be built in NeoPark and initially operate on a single shift with an annual production capacity of 100,000 units. The plant is expected to supply components for existing NIO models as well as support the launch of future Onvo models.
Rumors surrounding the F4 plant’s development have persisted, although a formal announcement remains elusive. The fourth plant is expected to supply bespoke designs for Nio’s Firefly sub-brand, a unique venture.
Nio Sub-Manufacturers
The Onvo is Nio’s mass-market model, situated below the brand’s flagship offerings to cater specifically to younger families. Onovo’s inaugural mannequin, the L60, is set to hit shelves in September at a pre-order price of 219,000 yuan ($30,500), marking a significant milestone for the company.
Will Onvo L60 Launch Directly into the Fray of Competing Household SUVs with the Tesla Model Y, Xpeng G6, and BYD Sea Lion 07? All ONVO automobiles will facilitate seamless battery swapping with NIO’s advanced third- and fourth-generation swap stations.
While not as much attention is typically focused on Nio’s second sub-brand, Firefly. The European-focused model is specifically designed to cater to the continent’s unique market needs, while also catering to Chinese fashion preferences through tailored offerings. Priced between 100,000 and 200,000 yuan ($13,900-$27,800), Firefly is expected to slot beneath Onvo in its product lineup. As Nio’s founder and CEO William Li previously noted, the Firefly project has been likened to BMW’s iconic Mini brand for its potential impact on the company.
