The newly enhanced Ford Mustang Mach-E GT has achieved an impressive 0-60mph acceleration, outpacing both the Tesla Model Y Performance and the Porsche Macan 4 Electric in terms of efficiency.

“For many car owners, the freedom to personalize and customize their vehicle is a crucial aspect of the overall ownership experience,” Chet Dhruna, General Manager of Integrated Companies at Ford, explained on Wednesday.

Dhruv revealed that the revamped 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT boasts a blistering 0-to-60-mph acceleration, eclipsing the Tesla Model Y Performance and the Porsche Macan 4 Electric in this regard?

The new electric powertrain enables the Mach-E to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3.3 seconds. That’s a significant improvement from 3.8 seconds without it. Compared, the Tesla Model Y’s efficiency allows it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 3.5 seconds. Porsche’s Macan 4E4 boasts an acceleration time of just 4.9 seconds.

Homeowners can gain access to this feature through a one-time purchase via the FordPass app, available for both new and existing buyers.

Equipped with a prolonged-range 91-kilowatt-hour battery, the 2024 Mach-E GT is anticipated to achieve an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-estimated range of up to 280 miles. The Rally trim has a maximum range of 265 miles.

The Corvette Grand Touring features a MagneRide Damping System on its front and rear suspension, differing from the Rally model’s “Rallycross-tuned” suspension designed specifically for high-performance driving.

The 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT and Rally trims start at $54,995 and $58,995, respectively.

Ford’s top executive has stated that the company continues to explore ways to further simplify access to its products, with the goal of enhancing the overall ownership experience for customers.

Electrek’s Take

Ford is undergoing a significant transformation from a traditional hardware-centric company to a software-driven organization. With the latest innovation, clients can opt for the improved package and seamlessly install it through Ford’s user-friendly app.

The automaker is poised to transition to smaller, more affordably priced EVs with the development of a novel low-cost EV platform. In a recent statement, CEO Jim Farley noted that Ford, in conjunction with Rivian and Tesla, are “the only major original equipment manufacturers outside of China that control software across the entire automotive space.”

Ford aims to have software programs contribute to increased revenue in the future. Ford’s misstep in electric vehicles (EVs) resulted in a staggering $1.1 billion loss in the second quarter, but CEO Jim Farley is confident that the company’s next-generation EV models will turn a profit.

The latest software updates, much like those rolled out by Ford’s rivals including Tesla and Rivian, can help the automaker stay in sync with industry advancements.
