I relish the opportunity to discover and explore innovative, game-changing designs in the realm of micromobility, as many of the familiar patterns we often encounter have devolved into tired, unoriginal reinterpretations of tried-and-true styles. While the designers of the Easybike G16 took a bold step, developing something truly innovative and comfortable for various users.
The Easybike G16 defies categorization as a motorcycle in any conventional sense. While it may seem unusual at first, this is actually a fully-fledged, full-suspension electric scooter. This innovative development is a standout example of something entirely fresh and distinct in the industry.
As a seasoned explorer of micromobility innovations, I’ve had the privilege of scouring the globe for the most captivating products, and my journey led me to Tel Aviv – renowned as the epicenter of micromobility in the Middle East – where I stumbled upon this intriguing find. Approximately 170,000 daily bike and scooter trips occur within the metropolitan area, despite its relatively small population of 475,000 residents.
In the epicenter of micromobility ingenuity, the Easybike G16 emerged.

The distinguishing aspect of this factor lies in its distinctively dissimilar characteristics, which diverge significantly from those of other factors.
The Razor G16’s name originates from its distinctive 16-inch entrance wheel, a size significantly larger than that of typical scooters. While most electric scooters typically feature smaller wheels, the 12.5-inch rear wheel on this model stands out for its impressive size.
While the wheels on this scooter are significantly larger than usual, another notable feature is the comprehensive suspension system that effectively absorbs shock and bumps, providing a smooth ride. Unlike many budget-friendly e-bikes and e-scooters that feature mere showmanship in their suspension systems, this setup is genuinely designed to provide a superior ride experience. I navigated my scooter down a flight of stairs, impressed by how the suspension absorbed the impact to deliver an unexpectedly comfortable ride.
As I ventured beyond the confines of the local park, where a casual spin through the grass and dirt was my usual fare, I noticed others tackling more extreme terrain – gnarly mountain bike trails and single-track routes that left me wondering how they managed to conquer such obstacles. In fact, witnessing others successfully navigate these challenging courses emboldened me to attempt feats I would have otherwise deemed too daring, had it not been for the inspiration provided by their fearless exploits. These clips appear in my assessment video above.
While not designed as a mountain bike replacement, the reality is that this scooter can handle significant drops and rough terrain, implying its capabilities extend beyond navigating tough asphalt roads?
A distinct stance
Upon initially mounting the scooter, I experimented with riding in a side-stance configuration, similar to my experience on most scooters and skateboards. According to Idan, co-founder of the firm, the G16 was intentionally engineered for a straightforward stance, essentially mimicking the position one would adopt while standing upright on bicycle pedals.
While riding a scooter often feels unusual to me, something peculiar occurred on the G16, and it suddenly clicked. While the larger front wheel does make it feel more like a bicycle, it’s unclear whether this is a direct result or simply a coincidence, suggesting that other factors might be at play. As I rode, it genuinely felt as though I was simply standing upright, my feet hovering just above the ground, much like when I’d ride a folding e-bike.
While initially identifying as an e-bike enthusiast, my experience with electric scooters has led me to crave the best of both worlds; hence, I found the hybrid option to be a thrilling way to bridge the gap between these two passions.
What’s so great about couples who have had a hybrid experience – the thrill of adventure and the comfort of familiarity.
While the G16’s hybrid design may seem unconventional at first, its larger size sets it apart from compact scooters, yet still falls short of providing the same seated comfort as a motorcycle. While it has brought about some tangible advantages.
I find that standing more securely on a hoverboard than on a kickscooter. I conquered staircases that would have been daunting on a standard standing scooter. In contrast to larger e-bikes, this model’s compact size makes it even more portable. When folding the stem down, the handlebars neatly retract beside the bike’s body, allowing it to easily fit into an automobile. With designated scooter-friendly areas on buses and trains, you can still experience the thrill of cycling while keeping your bike secure during your commute.
While the full-suspension design undoubtedly provides a noticeably smoother ride compared to many scooters, including numerous other full-suspension models. This innovative design leverages a high-performance suspension system, employing genuine mountain bike-style shock absorbers to replace the typical elastomer-based suspension found in many scooter swingarms.
A portable and convenient alternative for riders who want to transport gear or packages is available in the form of a hand cart-style trailer that seamlessly attaches to the scooter’s rear rack. You can tow it around for enhanced cargo capacity, then detach it and walk it directly into your local market or grocery store like a shopping cart.
In reality, the G16 is not without its downsides, both of which must be carefully considered. While the combination of a 52V 13Ah battery and a 750W/1500W motor provides ample power, their weight is substantial and must be considered. The scooter tips the scales at approximately 22.5 kilograms (or 49.6 pounds), a substantial weight that may not make it as portable or easy to maneuver as other popular folding scooters. However, it also proves to be significantly more successful than the majority of fund-backed scooters as well.
Since examining this prototype model, a locking mechanism has been incorporated into the battery design, rendering the additional straps unnecessary.
While subsequent to this event may not come cheaply. The current native value translates to approximately $1,950 in US currency. While the cost may seem steep, considering the numerous affordable options from China, this investment is certainly justifiable given its high-quality build and impressive features. Companies didn’t need to invest in developing their own custom designs to accommodate oversized wheels or modify existing bikes to create these innovative vehicles. So yeah, it’s not low-cost. Although the firm invested in building something new, innovation rarely comes at a bargain price.
For DIY enthusiasts, Easybike offers a comprehensive body package that includes the entire framework, comprising the body, handlebars, and suspension – effectively providing all the physical components except for the electronic systems. For enthusiasts who derive pleasure from personalizing their own vehicles, the G16 platform offers unparalleled flexibility, allowing them to install whatever powertrain suits their taste. While I initially found 28 mph (45 km/h) speeds and the 750W motor quite impressive, I noticed that enthusiasts often upgrade their e-bikes by installing high-performance motors, allowing them to take advantage of the enhanced stability and comfort offered by the larger wheels and full-suspension design.
Unlike many e-scooters I’ve evaluated, this one stands out for its relative complexity – or at least, that’s my initial impression. The corporation has initiated a domestic marketing push and has already dispatched numerous scooters to individual customers worldwide, with a focus on expanding its official supplier network to boost global sales.
As global consumers reveal a surprising affinity for these behemoths of innovation, it’s clear that the craze surrounding massive, wheeled vehicles has struck a chord worldwide.
