On July 18, BYD expanded its Yuan UP range with the introduction of a fresh trim, dubbed Vitality Version, which carries a price tag of 99,800 yuan (approximately $13,700 USD). The latest trim boasts an impressive range of 401 kilometres, featuring subtle configuration tweaks distinct from its predecessors. The BYD Yuan UP, previously offered in three trim levels, featured a price range of 96,800 to 119,800 yuan, equivalent to approximately $13,300 to $16,500 USD.

The new trim retains its original dimensions, measuring 4,310mm in length, 1,830mm in width, and 1,675mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,620mm, built upon the foundation of BYD’s e-platform 3.0. The automobile features 215/65R16 tyres mounted on 16-inch carbon-metallic rims.

The Yuan UP Vitality Version’s design builds upon its predecessor’s Dragon Face concept, featuring a sleek family-style appearance characterized by slim LED headlights connected by a black trim, adorned with the “Yuan” Chinese character at its center. Additionally, the trim boasts through-type LED taillights, discreetly integrated door handles, and a striking floating roof.

Customers can choose from four exterior color options: Relaxed Green, White, Cool Grey, and bold Brave Pink.

The interior features a soothing beige and pink colour scheme, complemented by an 8.8-inch LCD instrument panel, a 10.1-inch central management display screen, and a W-HUD for a seamlessly integrated driving experience. The steering wheel features a modern four-spoke design and boasts a sleek, flat rear profile. Furthermore, the mid-console boasts a 15W cellular Wi-Fi charging panel, an array of tactile buttons, and a striking crystal gearshift knob.

With a focus on enhanced connectivity, the vehicle features ISOFIX little one seat configuration, along with in-car Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a 4-speaker audio system, advanced voice interaction technology, digital keyless entry, remote control functionality, and seamless over-the-air updates – offering a comprehensive suite of innovative features. The configurations combine the best features from our existing three trims to create a unique offering.

The electric vehicle boasts an efficient powertrain, featuring a 70 kW (94 hp) and 180 Nm AC everlasting magnet synchronous motor, paired with a substantial 45.12 kWh Blade battery pack, allowing for a CLTC cruising range of up to 401 kilometers – a significant increase from the previous models’ ranges of 301 km and 401 km? The collaboration leverages BYD’s comprehensive knowledge in CTB technology. The car’s 0-to-100 km/h acceleration time is a respectable 12.9 seconds. Capable of rapid recharging, the battery regains 50 percentage points in just 30 minutes, rising from a 30% depletion to a healthy 80% charge. The charging port is located on the front fender. Like its configurations, the powertrain specification offers flexibility by combining elements from each of the three current trims.

Between January and June 2024, the BYD Yuan UP recorded a cumulative total of 49,085 vehicles sold.
