Ampler Bikes, a renowned Estonian brand, is elevating its reputation for excellence in European-made e-bikes with the launch of innovative styles that extend its reach beyond bike lanes to pathways.

With a legacy of innovative designs, Ampler has successfully elevated its reputation on the road by showcasing unique and stylish electric bicycles that set the standard for minimalistic yet functional e-bike creations. Commuters have long admired these bicycles for their understated design, which cleverly conceals the advanced technology and premium components beneath a minimalist façade.

In line with the company’s claims, Ampler is renowned for crafting some of the lightest e-bikes in the industry; their latest range further solidifies their position as a top contender, offering unparalleled versatility among market options. Effortless power, streamlined components, and seamless performance. Ampler seamlessly merges fashion-forward expertise with time-tested bicycle engineering to create a pedal-riding experience that is both effortless and efficient.

While any Ampler e-bike may struggle to label itself as purely electric? Initially, they resemble a sleek, pedal-powered bicycle commonly seen on city streets, with a bike messenger effortlessly gliding along the designated path. Within the framework of an e-bike lies a concealed treasure trove of advanced technologies, including sophisticated electronics and rechargeable power sources, granting users a multitude of customization choices and intuitive control settings to optimize their cycling experience and maximize returns on investment.

The company is expanding its range by introducing its inaugural off-road capable e-bike. Two Curt models now complement the basic Ampler: the Curt Anyroad, offered in both standard diamond-shaped bodies and a low-step option for added convenience.

Compared to its current model, the Curt Anyroad features substantial upgrades, including thicker tires, fork mounts, and a refined 10-speed transmission. This bike is designed for all-road excursions and immersive bike-packing experiences. Master challenging landscapes with assured proficiency, leveraging peak energy and efficiency in every pedal rotation.

A new accessible version of the Curt has been introduced, specifically designed as the Curt Low-Step. The Curt Low-Step and Curt Anyroad Low-Step models cater to riders with smaller builds, offering S and M body size options, while the rest of Ampler’s lineup, showcasing a diverse range of styles, is available in XS to L sizes, ensuring an impressive array of choices to suit nearly every rider.

With the new additions, all of Ampler’s e-bike models feature a low-step option, many of which come equipped with either single-speed Gates carbon belt drives or 9- to 10-speed Microshift transmissions. At approximately 14.5-17 kg (30-37 lb), Ampler’s e-bikes are among the lightest urban electric bicycles available, boasting a remarkably svelte profile for effortless navigation and storage.

To further distinguish its lightweight and low-maintenance e-bikes, Ampler is introducing a range of fresh color options. The corporation opened a massive 13,000-square-foot facility. meter (14,000 sq. Empower manufacturing units in 2022 by introducing native painting capabilities that enable a wider array of color options for customers.

Ampler’s e-bikes kick off at €2,790, approximately USD 3,040, with top-tier models, such as the Curt Anyroad, coming in at €3,690, roughly USD 4,020. With a penchant for the Ampler Axel, my evaluation is influenced by its middle-ground stance between the sporty Ampler Curt and more upright Ampler Juna.

Electrek’s Take

Having had the privilege of testing numerous Ampler e-bikes on various European routes and visiting the company’s Estonian factory to witness their commitment to quality, I gained valuable insights into the meticulous attention they devote to crafting each e-bike.

The corporation takes pride not only in its exceptional manufacturing standards, but also in the extensive integration of cutting-edge technology within its bicycles. When discussing design decisions with Ampler’s team, I’ve consistently sensed a commitment to thoughtful product development, rather than a focus on churning out new models solely for the sake of a model year or succumbing to fleeting trends. When developing innovative products or features, our focus is on creating meaningful value for riders rather than simply seeking attention or novelty. And I respect that.

The Curt Anyroad iteration appears to be a faithful extension of the original concept, building upon its established design heritage while opening up fresh routes for riders to explore, thereby expanding the possibilities for where a journey can take you.
