Chery has terminated growth of its Exeed Exlantix E08 luxurious MPV to consolidate sources below the Huawei-backed Luxeed. The transfer positions Luxeed’s EHV mannequin, constructed on the E0X-L platform, to develop into Concord Clever Mobility Alliance’s (HIMA) first MPV when it launches in early 2026.
Based on Chinese language media twenty first Century Enterprise Herald, a portion of Exlantix E08’s engineering group has been transferred to Luxeed’s EHV program, which presents each pure-electric and extended-range variants with CATL batteries. Luxeed EHV targets the 50,000 USD phase, whereas the cancelled E08 was positioned close to 30,000 USD. Chery confirmed this “strategic de-escalation” to keep away from inner competitors between its premium EV sub-brands.
The choice aligns with surging EV MPV demand: MPV gross sales in China grew 49.7% year-on-year in H1 2025, reaching 214,100 models. With HIMA’s first MPV confirmed by Huawei’s Richard Yu, Luxeed’s EHV now leads the race in opposition to rumoured choices from Aito (Seres) and Stelato (BAIC).

Conflict of twins: Luxeed vs. Exeed Exlantix
The Huawei-backed Luxeed model, the second marque below HIMA, has encountered rising pains in its collaboration with Chery, notably in balancing manufacturing priorities between Luxeed and Chery’s in-house Exlantix line.
Launched on November 28, 2023, the Luxeed S7 electrical sedan debuted as a tech-forward rival to Tesla’s Mannequin 3, with Huawei’s Concord OS and ADS 2.0 driving system. Nevertheless, only a month later, Chery’s personal Exlantix ES entered the market with strikingly comparable specs: almost equivalent dimensions, battery choices (each powered by CATL), and a shared E0X platform.
Regardless of robust demand – 20,000+ pre-orders introduced by Huawei’s Richard Yu at launch – the Luxeed S7 confronted rapid manufacturing hurdles: The devoted “Tremendous Manufacturing facility 2,” meant to construct the S7, lagged in tools set up and staffing, forcing Chery to shift manufacturing to its already congested Tremendous Manufacturing facility 1 in Wuhu (dwelling to the Tiggo 8, Tiggo 9, and Exlantix ES). Promised 4–6 week deliveries stretched to 12+ weeks, sparking buyer frustration. In the meantime, Exlantix ES consumers acquired automobiles in as little as 15 days, fueling perceptions of unequal useful resource allocation.
