A social media trade between executives from Nio‘s Onvo and Li Auto has drawn public consideration after Nio’s Onvo President Shen Fei referred to as on Li Auto Vice President Liu Jie to challenge an apology over an earlier misunderstanding associated to a web-based smear marketing campaign concentrating on Li Auto’s i8 SUV, as reported by IT-House. The incident comes at a time when each firms are launching key electrical automobiles in China’s aggressive mid-to-upper phase.

On July 26, Onvo’s Shen Fei posted on Weibo, “Concerning the suggestion to ‘report back to the police’ on July 24, netizens have verified that the supply was not Onvo. Now that the information are clear, I counsel that Li Auto’s Liu Jie provide a direct apology to Onvo and Nio customers. Resolving misunderstandings demonstrates maturity.”

The scenario started when Li Auto’s Liu Jie posted a screenshot on July 24, asking, “Is that this the subsequent main assault from paid smear campaigns in opposition to the Li Auto i8?” Shen responded within the feedback with: “Report it on to the police!”

Shen Fei reshared that submit, prompting broader on-line dialogue. Liu Jie has not responded publicly to Shen’s newest remarks.

Li Auto’s all-electric six-seat SUV, the i8, is at present open for pre-order with a projected value of 350,000 to 400,000 yuan (approx. 48,000–55,000 USD). Remaining pricing might be introduced on the firm’s press convention on July 29. The automobile measures 5,085 mm in size, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,740 mm in peak, with a wheelbase of three,050 mm.
