The Japanese automaker Suzuki has announced a price tag of ¥2.5 million to ¥3.5 million (approximately $23,000-$32,000 USD) for its first all-electric vehicle, jointly developed with Toyota.
Ahead of the launch of new sales next month, Suzuki unveiled the price tag for its first electric vehicle (EV), the eVitara, which is set to go head-to-head with Toyota’s highly anticipated all-electric SUV, offering a similar model in the market?
The Suzuki Vitara starts at £29,999 ($40,500), with prices escalating to £37,799 ($51,000) for the top-of-the-line “Extremely ALLGRIP-e 4WD” trim.
Suzuki’s inaugural electric vehicle offers a choice between two battery packs: 49 kilowatt-hours and 61 kilowatt-hours, yielding respective World Light-Duty Test Cycle ranges of 346 kilometers (215 miles) and 428 kilometers (266 miles).
Offering two grade options, consumers can choose between “Movement” or the more premium “Extreme,” each available in both 2-wheel drive (2WD) and advanced dual-motor 4-wheel drive configurations. Suzuki has specifically designed the innovative all-wheel-drive (4WD) ALLGRIP-e system for its new electric Vitarra, making it one of the rare automotive brands to offer an electric SUV with four-by-four capability.

The Suzuki e-Vitara is based on a novel dedicated electric vehicle platform, dubbed “HEARTECT-e”, which accommodates both an e-Axle and lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery pack.
As a key component of their intensifying partnership, Toyota has agreed to utilize Suzuki’s electric vehicle powertrain technology for its forthcoming all-electric SUV, the City Cruiser. Toyota is set to introduce the City Cruiser in the coming months, with the vehicle essentially being a rebranded e-Vitara.
The Suzuki Vitara measures 4,275 millimeters in length, 1,800 millimeters in width, and 1,635 millimeters in height, boasting a wheelbase of 2,700 millimeters.
Kia’s new EV3 measures 4,300 millimeters in length, 1,850 millimeters in width, and 1,560 millimeters from top to bottom, featuring a wheelbase of 2,680 millimeters.
Within the initial three-month period, the Kia EV6 emerged as the top-selling retail electric vehicle in the UK, additionally ranking as the fourth best-selling electrified car overall, including both retail and industrial models.
The Tesla Model 3 Long Range begins at £33,005 (approximately $42,500 USD) in the United Kingdom. The car is also available with two battery options: a 58.3-kilowatt-hour (kWh) choice and an 81.48-kilowatt-hour (kWh) option. While the previous variants boast an impressive WLTP range of 430 km (270 miles), the latter iteration significantly outshines it with a generous spread of 599 km (375 miles).

Suzuki offers a limited time incentive to early customers: a discount package featuring 0% Purchase Contract Plan (PCP) for two years, coupled with a minimal 20% down payment requirement. For an upfront payment of £8,436 ($11,500), one can expect to pay approximately £379 ($513) each month to finance the 61 kWh Movement 2WD model.
When ordering before September 30, Suzuki provides a complimentary Ohme home charger and 10,000 miles of house charging credits.
