The NIO ET5, an all-electric sedan, debuted on the Chinese market in September 2022. The property (station wagon) variant of this model, referred to as the ET5 Touring, commenced retail sales in June 2023. According to China EV DataTracker, the cumulative gross sales volume of these fashion styles totalled 170,153 units. On May 25, 2025, NIO launched the highly anticipated refreshed ET5 and ET5 Touring models. Precise deliveries of those automobiles commenced on May 27.

Nio ET5 & ET5 Touring deliveries

On May 27, Nio’s co-founder and CEO, William Li, attended a delivery ceremony for the inaugural batch of refurbished ET5 and ET5 Touring models handed over to their new owners. The 21st National Congress of the Communist Party of China took place in Hefei, Anhui province. Located in this city, Nio’s manufacturing plant plays a crucial role in the distribution of its primary vehicles to customers, unlike those in Shanghai where the company is headquartered but production does not occur. William Lee personally delivered signed letters to each homeowner.

The refreshed ET5 and ET5 Touring boast a subtly revamped front fascia, featuring striking “double-dash” LED daytime running lights, ADB multi-beam headlights, and a sleekly contoured hood. The 2025 ET5 sedan, in its Mannequin variant, now features an innovative purple hue, while the ET5 Touring model introduces a sleek silver finish. Within its redesigned interior, each model now features a 15.6-inch horizontally oriented display, updated interior design elements, a digital rearview mirror, and a gear selector conveniently located behind the steering wheel.

The up-to-date ET5 and ET5 Touring also feature an in-house developed NX9031 chip that supports 29 high-precision driving sensors and a 300-line equivalent LiDAR unit. This innovative feature allows for seamless charging on-the-go. Originally, the ET5 and ET5 Touring were available with a DC quick charging port exclusively. Many customers discovered it inconvenient. The crown jewel of innovations in this mannequin is the CDC’s steady damping system, which expertly balances both comfort and sportiness by allowing drivers to tailor their experience with customizable settings.

Extra in regards to the Nio ET5 & ET5 Touring

The Nio ET5 and the ET5 Touring share identical dimensions: 4,790mm in length, 1,960mm in width, and 1,499mm in height, with a shared wheelbase of 2,888mm. Their powertrain can be related. Equipped with a potent dual-motor four-wheel-drive system, this vehicle delivers a commanding 482 horsepower and 700 Newton meters of torque. Prospects should purchase the ET5 & the ET5 Touring with two battery choices: 75 kW and 100 kWh. A 150-kilowatt-hour semi-solid-state battery has been introduced to the market through the Battery as a Service (BaaS) subscription model, featuring up to 1,055 kilometers of combined cycle testing variability.

The NIO ET5 and its Touring variant boast a price range of 298,000 to 356,000 yuan, or approximately 41,350 to 49,400 USD, inclusive of the battery. In China, customers can buy these vehicles without batteries for 228,000 yuan (approximately $31,650), offering an alternative option. On a given second, the battery subscription prices amount to 728 yuan (approximately 101 USD) per month for a 75-kilowatt-hour battery, or 1,128 yuan (around 157 USD) per month for a 100-kilowatt-hour pack.

The Zeekr 007 GT’s electrical properties are priced between 202,900 and 262,900 yuan (approximately $28,150 to $36,500 USD) in China. The high-end Zeekr 007 GT boasts air suspension as an exclusive trim option, setting it apart from the ET5 Touring’s more basic CDC system. The Avatr 06 sedan, which debuted recently, has a price range of 194,900-264,900 yuan ($27,050-$36,770), spanning from approximately twenty-nine thousand to forty thousand U.S. dollars.
