On May 16, FAW-Toyota’s bZ4X all-electric SUV successfully launched from the production line at the joint venture’s innovative electric vehicle (NEV) manufacturing facility in Tianjin, China. The BMW Z4 was also the 1.2 millionth vehicle manufactured at this factory, marking a significant milestone in its production history. The official launch will take place in June, offering two variants with certified range: 550 km and 630 km (based on the CLTC cycle).
Pre-sale already opened final month. The standard range trim has a 550km driving range and is priced at ¥130,000 ($18,000), while the L2 version with superior driving assistance and identical 550km range costs ¥160,000 ($22,200).


From January to April, FAW-Toyota’s NEV plant produced 35,900 vehicles, representing a significant 34% year-over-year increase.


Built on the foundation of Toyota’s innovative e-TNGA platform, the FAW-Toyota boasts dimensions of 4,780mm in length, 1,866mm in width, and 1,510mm in height, with a generous 2,880mm wheelbase. The high-performance vehicle is equipped with 21-inch alloy wheels.

Energy is generated by an entrance electrical motor boasting a maximum output of 200 kW (268 hp), courtesy of BYD’s FinDreams subsidiary; this is complemented by the use of BYD Blade lithium iron phosphate batteries featuring capacities of 65.28 kWh and 73.984 kWh, respectively, with a CLTC range of approximately 550 km and 630 km.

The FAW-Toyota bZ5 boasts an impressive suite of security features, including the Momenta 5.0 L2 city superior driving assistance system, which leverages the power of 33 sensors, a roof-mounted lidar, five millimeter-wave radars, and seven cameras to provide unparalleled protection on the road? The officials claim that the system boasts impressive autonomous driving features, including more than 30 advanced navigation options reminiscent of intelligent parking assistance, remote parking capabilities, and Toyota’s comprehensive Safety Sense suite.

Additionally, nine airbags surround the entire interior space.

The cockpit’s bold pink hue creates a daring aesthetic, complemented by a 15.6-inch central management display screen that floats effortlessly above the sleek, rectangular full LCD instrument panel, which stretches across an impressive 1.44 meters in length.2 The panoramic sunroof features advanced technology that enables the official to block a remarkable 99.98% of ultraviolet rays, while also effectively screening out 99.3% of infrared radiation.



The sound system originates from 10 high-quality JBL audio systems. Moreover, the latest advancements include AI-powered face recognition, intuitive in-vehicle video systems, and customizable 256-color ambient lighting features.
