In April 2025, 1.755 million passenger automobiles (sedans, SUVs, and MPVs) have been offered in retail in China, a year-on-year improve of 14.5% and a month-on-month lower of 9.4%, bringing the cumulative annual gross sales quantity to six.872 million automobiles, in line with the China Passenger Automobile Affiliation (CPCA). The manufacturing quantity was greater with 2.23 million passenger automobiles produced, up 11.2% year-on-year and down 10.3% month-on-month, bringing the cumulative annual manufacturing quantity to eight.544 million automobiles.

Prime ten best-selling passenger car manufacturers in retail in China, April 2025

Home Chinese language manufacturers offered 1.15 million passenger automobiles, up 31% year-on-year and down 5% month-on-month, accounting for 65.5% of the market share. BYD continued to guide, instantly adopted by Geely whereas Changan, Chery, and Nice Wall Motor all made it to the highest ten listing. Then again, three way partnership manufacturers offered 440,000 automobiles, down 3% year-on-year and eight% month-on-month. Particularly, the retail market share of German, Japanese, and American manufacturers was 15.6%, 12.2%, and 4.8%, respectively.

Particularly, 905,000 new power passenger automobiles have been offered, a year-on-year improve of 33.9% and a month-on-month lower of 8.7%, reaching a penetration fee of 51.5%. From January to April, the cumulative retail gross sales reached 3.324 million items, a rise of 35.7%.

Moreover, the retail NEV market share of home conventional Chinese language manufacturers, three way partnership manufacturers, and NEV startups was 73%, 3.4%, and 19.4%. Tesla China’s retail market share was 3.2%.
