On the evening of May 7, Xiaomi released a public apology statement addressing customer concerns regarding recent updates impacting its Redmi Note 9 Pro “Extreme” model. The corporation has addressed concerns surrounding the introduction of its “Rating Mode” feature, clarifying the purpose and genesis of the optional carbon-fibre dual-duct hood. Corrective measures have been implemented to address and resolve consumer dissatisfaction in a timely and effective manner.

The corporation has acknowledged that a recent software update unexpectedly introduced lock requirements for the SU7 Extreme’s “Rating Mode” without advance notice. Originally intended to enhance driving efficiency, the feature’s modification lacked adequate customer communication, leading to unfavorable feedback and suggestions from users? Xiaomi has suspended its software update program and is committed to releasing a revised version within a timeframe of four to eight weeks.

The corporation acknowledged communication milestones and promised that subsequent updates would feature enhanced customer interactions. “We acknowledge that major updates affecting consumer understanding should involve extensive consultation with our community,” the statement reads.

Xiaomi has confirmed the addition of a carbon fiber dual-duct hood to its MI 6 Extreme variant, following positive feedback on a prototype tested at the Nürburgring in October. While aesthetics are the primary focus of the hood, its design also yields a notable reduction in vehicle weight, shedding an impressive 1.3 kilograms, while simultaneously enhancing cooling airflow to a moderate degree.

Due to misconceptions surrounding its performance, Xiaomi is poised to allow SU7 Extreme users to switch back to the standard aluminum casing. The following reconfiguration possibilities are available for both orders placed and delivered vehicles. Prospects can also earn 20,000 yuan (approximately $2,770 USD) in loyalty rewards. While preserving the carbon fibre hood may garner loyalty points. Xiaomi’s recent reconfiguration efforts may cause a temporary slowdown in production but won’t impact other purchase agreements.

Carbon fibre hoods are manufactured using a meticulous autoclave process that requires approximately 12 hours to complete for each individual unit. Xiaomi stresses that the component has undergone rigorous evaluations for security and durability, as well as meeting stringent standards for noise, vibration, and pedestrian impact safety requirements? A comprehensive five-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty backs this product. The company highlighted the superiority of its product by contrasting it with aftermarket alternatives that fail to meet comparable standards.

On May 8, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced that the company’s flagship device, the Mi 11 Ultra Extreme, is currently undergoing testing on the renowned Nürburgring track. The electric vehicle features a tri-motor setup, generating an impressive 1548 horsepower (PS), and boasts a swift 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 1.98 seconds, as well as a top speed electronically limited to 350 km/h. Equipped with CATL’s Kirin II battery, the vehicle boasts an estimated CLTC range of 630 kilometers, while its charging capabilities allow for a swift replenishment from 10% to 80% in approximately 11 minutes.

A variety of components incorporate Akebono braking systems, carbon-ceramic discs, and a rigid carbon rear wing to amplify downforce. By incorporating carbon fiber throughout the vehicle, we can achieve a reduction in overall weight of 57 kilograms. Within its interior, the vehicle features a luxurious blend of Alcantara and carbon trim, complemented by the innovative presence of Xiaomi’s proprietary driver assistance technology.
