Protesters backing President Donald Trump’s MAGA movement made a bizarre choice when demonstrating outside a Tesla store in California – surrounding the location with gas-guzzling trucks.

Tesla Counter-protest
SHARE

Protestors backing the MAGA movement orchestrated an unconventional demonstration outside a California-based Tesla dealership, wherein they encircled the premises with their own gas-powered vehicles – a move that raises questions about the efficacy of their counter-protest strategy.

As soon as MAGA and Proud Boys attempt to counter-protest against your model, it’s likely to find itself in a difficult situation.

The “Tesla Takedown” movement has been orchestrating peaceful demonstrations outside Tesla stores across the United States.

Activists aim to spark a boycott of Tesla, driven by their perception that it serves as Elon Musk’s personal piggy bank for funding the ascendance of Trump’s allegedly authoritarian regime and fascist ideology.

Weekend after weekend, protests have been growing in intensity and spreading across dozens of Tesla locations throughout the United States over the past two months.

Counter-protests targeting anti-Trump demonstrations have increasingly escalated into violent clashes involving MAGA supporters and far-right groups like the Proud Boys, marking a disturbing trend in political polarization.

In front of Tesla’s retail outlet in Rocklin, California, supporters of Make America Great Again (MAGA) congregated en masse to stage a countering protest against a demonstration by Teslaphiles showcasing a fleet of gasoline-powered vehicles outside the store.

MAGA’s flawed logic stems from the notion that their counter-protests are just as effective in scaring off potential customers as Tesla Takedown’s demonstrations, which could ultimately neutralize each other’s impact.

Why would anyone intentionally submit themselves to such an ordeal just to buy a car? Reports have surfaced that Proud Boys members were present at the event. Despite occasional confrontations between Tesla protesters and their detractors, no significant disturbances have arisen from these encounters.

It was striking that none of the MAGA counter-protesters owned a Tesla vehicle. All confirmations from movie plots indicate assistance to Tesla in petrol-powered vehicles.

Electrek’s Take

I’m not gonna lie. It’s unclear which timeline we’re currently in, but I do find this one fairly amusing so far. A group of vehement MAGA supporters and self-proclaimed Proud Boys, known for their affinity with far-right ideologies, have taken to brandishing “Tesla shields” in a seeming display of solidarity with the electric vehicle manufacturer amid accusations that Elon Musk is tacitly financing the growth of fascism within the United States.

Just a few years ago, I never thought I’d be writing this.

As his administration increasingly flouts a unanimous Supreme Court ruling to facilitate the return of an individual the U.S. wants to extradite, it becomes increasingly difficult for Trump critics to argue he won’t descend into authoritarianism and fascism. ICE has acknowledged that one of its deportations was incorrect, resulting in the individual being held in an overseas detention facility.

Defying a Supreme Court ruling can only be seen as a blatant disregard for the law, and forcibly deporting individuals into foreign custody without due process is an egregious affront to human rights, lending credence to the Tesla Takedown argument that Musk’s financial support of Trump’s election has inadvertently fueled the rise of fascist tendencies in the US.

While awaiting further developments, Elon Musk has recently acknowledged that his efforts to support Dogecoin (DOGE) have been unsuccessful. Initially, he asserted that he believed he could potentially decrease the sum of $2 trillion. In 2022, he reduced that figure by a significant margin, ultimately settling on a total of $1 trillion. In the final week of his term, the official declared that he now genuinely believes Dogecoin (DOGE) has the potential to yield a staggering $150 billion in savings for the United States by 2026, when his DOGE-driven initiative comes to an end.

As Trump advocates for increased spending and reduced taxes, he underscores concerns about escalating the US deficit – a scenario that has parallels with the rise of DOGE.

Musk’s reputation suffered a significant blow, seemingly without any tangible gain.
