XPeng plans to invest over 9 billion yuan into R&D in 2025

Throughout the 2025 Guangdong Province Growth Convention, He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of Xpeng acknowledged that Xpeng plans to speculate 9.5 billion yuan (1.3 billion USD) into R&D. Of that 9.5 billion yuan, AI investments will whole round 4.5 billion yuan (600 million USD).

Xpeng has already invested over 50 billion yuan (6.8 billion USD) into R&D and manufacturing, most of it being within the Guangdong Province the place it’s headquartered.

He Xiaopeng went on to state that he believes autonomous driving will rework the Chinese language automotive business within the subsequent 5 years. He compares this transformation akin to how electrical automobiles have modified the Chinese language auto business within the final 5 years. He revealed by the second half of 2025, Xpeng goals to attain L3 autonomous driving and broaden its availability globally. With L3 autonomous driving, the car can deal with all points of driving circumstances and doesn’t require fixed driver supervision – although drivers should be able to take over at any time. With L2, drivers should always monitor the car and its setting and can’t deal with all driving situations. 

Moreover, in 2025, Xpeng plans to start mass manufacturing of an in-house high-performance Turing chip, which could be utilized to automobiles, flying automobiles, and robots.

The corporate offered a complete of 190,068 automobiles in 2024 and has entered a number of new markets, with the newest being Finland. In 2025, the corporate plans to enter over a complete of 60 nations. He Xiaopeng stated. “Within the subsequent 10 years, XPeng Motors goals to attain 50% of its gross sales from abroad markets.”
