Volkswagen is elevating its competitive prowess to new heights with the debut of its ID.Buzz-inspired Glamper Van, a cutting-edge electric minibus designed to delight and amaze.

Volkswagen’s iconic Microbus has recently undergone a significant electric upgrade. The German automaker unveiled the ID.Buzz electric van in late March, marking a significant milestone in its electrification strategy.

The electric van generated significant buzz across Europe, amassing over 21,000 pre-orders before its official dealership release last year. By the end of 2022, Volkswagen’s industrial division had successfully delivered more than 6,000 units of its popular ID.Buzz model, accompanied by a substantial 26,600 orders.

The European-market ID.Buzz boasts an 82 kWh lithium-ion battery and a potent 201 hp electric motor, enabling a range of up to 258 miles on a single charge.

While the electric van may diverge from typical automobiles you’ve driven, it offers an enjoyable, expansive travel experience replete with numerous possibilities for customization. (Try our assessment right here.)

The VW Glamper Van builds upon the ID.Buzz Cargo platform, boasting a vibrant exterior adorned with an array of colorful designs. Volkswagen teases that its electric minibus will bring an extra layer of excitement to the current competition season.

The Volkswagen California Ocean Camper is crafted specifically for music festival enthusiasts, featuring an Instagram-perfect photo studio equipped with decorative greenery and blooms, vibrant warning lights, comfortable seating, and adjustable lighting. The camera even comes equipped with an inclusive makeup filter designed to enable you to capture the competitive environment in a refined manner.

German automotive tuner ABT has developed innovative solar panel solutions for its electric minivan range, allowing owners to harness the power of the sun and increase their vehicle’s annual mileage by approximately 1,864 miles (3,000 km). You may also leverage this technology to transmit off-grid energy and gain a competitive edge by powering lights, music, entertainment, and more.

Although Volkswagen has revealed the much-awaited three-row version of the ID.Buzz, US customers can expect deliveries to commence only in the following year. Until then, consider a few innovative features spotted at the VW’s North American ID.Buzz unveiling event.
