Audi confirms numerous PHEVs coming in 2025

To mitigate potential fluctuations in electric vehicle (EV) demand over the next 12 months, Audi plans to take steps.

The automaker introduced a multitude of innovative models in 2024, featuring a revamped product portfolio that distinctly separates its internal combustion engine vehicles from its electric offerings. Audi will continue building on its electrified lineup in 2025, starting with plug-in hybrid models first.

“In 2025, we will advance our model refreshment efforts, with a focus on revitalizing key model lines, including the Audi A7 and Audi Q3.” As prospects look forward to what’s to come,” said Audi CEO Gernot Döllner, during a press conference outlining the automaker’s 2024 sales performance.

In late 2024, a recall was issued for the Audi Q5 and the previously discontinued Audi A7 plug-in hybrid, triggered by concerns over fires caused by defective battery modules. Audi’s Q5 plug-in hybrid model was also affected by the 2023 recall of approximately 240-volt Stage 2 AC charging cables, joining a list that included all-electric models from both Audi and Porsche.
