BMW’s storied M division, renowned for crafting potent gasoline-powered performance vehicles, may yet surprise with an all-electric offering that unleashes even more ferocity. Since 2018, the crew has been quietly testing a top-secret electric vehicle prototype, code-named “Beast”. A new teaser video gives us an exclusive first glimpse of the revolutionary BMW M Beast.
Reports suggest that BMW has been secretly developing an electric vehicle (EV) codenamed the “Beast” since 2018.
BMW’s high-performance division is forging ahead with its inaugural M-branded electric vehicle. We got our first look at BMW’s forthcoming electric vehicle earlier this month in Episode 1 of their “BMW M Electrified” series, where it was partially revealed beneath a veil of camouflage.
The collection provides an exclusive glimpse into BMW M’s innovative process as they create their inaugural all-electric model. In its latest episode, BMW seamlessly continues the narrative, showcasing early prototype designs.
BMW M’s CEO, Frank van Meel, remarked, “We had no idea where this expertise would take us.” In 2018, a team of engineers created an “unbridled beast” within the company, codenamed “The Beast,” showcasing the brand’s unrelenting pursuit of performance.
According to Michael Sailer, a member of BMW M’s team responsible for improving driving dynamics, the Beast EV is “extremely potent” and lacks the composure typical of other M vehicles, rendering it challenging to control effectively. BMW M’s ultimate goal is to perfect.
The shift towards electric vehicles, as Meel pointed out, unlocks a vast array of new possibilities, accelerating the trade’s transformation in response. The car ultimately missed out on optimal traction.
As BMW M readies the next generation of innovative technology, its CEO stressed, “To elevate performance, we must optimize every aspect.”
The head of BMW M declared, “It feels eerily reminiscent of January 2015 when I confidently predicted: ‘Trust me, I’m an engineer, and M xDrive is going to be fantastic.’ Now, he’s asserting with equal conviction, ‘Trust me that what we’re working on right now for the long haul will be at least as impressive.'”
According to reports, the first electric M car is expected to be powered by BMW’s upcoming Neue Klasse EV platform, boasting a staggering 1,340 horsepower from four independent electric motors. With the optional performance package, you can unleash up to 1,092 horsepower on the brand-new Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.
