The GMC Sierra EV Denali made its debut during a daylong test drive event in Michigan. General Motors’ Chief of GMC and Buick, Duncan Aldred, has unveiled fresh images of the highly-anticipated electric pickup truck.

General Motors has been hinting at the development of an electric GMC Sierra pickup for several years. The all-electric 2024 GMC Sierra EV officially debuted in October 2022 as its inaugural model.

The next all-electric GM truck will likely follow the successful launch of the Hummer EV.

The inaugural GMC Sierra EV boasts a bold design, purposefully engineered to exceed expectations and redefines what’s possible in an electric pickup.

The 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Version 1, boasting an impressive configuration, will unleash a maximum of 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque in its peak energy mode, accompanied by an estimated range of up to 400 miles. This capable pickup truck can additionally boast a maximum trailering capacity of up to 9,500 pounds.

With rapid 800V charging capabilities, the Sierra EV can replenish its battery to an impressive 100 miles of driving range in just around 10 minutes. One of its most impressive features is the MultiPro MidGate, which expands the truck’s bed by more than 10 feet. The innovative design boasts a retractable rear cabin wall that effortlessly converts into a spacious cargo area, ideal for stowing large items such as kayaks or other oversized equipment.

The all-new Chevrolet Silverado EV offers a range of innovative features, including four-wheel steering with “Crabwalk” technology, initially introduced on the Hummer EV, as well as available GM Super Cruise driver assistance.

Although the initial launch timeline suggested that the Sierra EV Denali Version 1 would hit the market in early 2023, General Motors has recently announced a revised schedule with the electric pickup truck now expected to arrive in summer 2024.

General Motors will offer various trim levels for its Sierra EV, including the Elevation and AT4, which are expected to debut in the first half of 2025.

The 2025 GMC Sierra EV lineup now features three new trim levels: the Elevation, AT4, and Denali Version 1.

The AT4 trim is equipped with 18-inch wheels paired with 35-inch all-terrain tires, featuring a terrain mode and available with the advanced semi-autonomous driving system, Terrain Cruise.

General Motors will manufacture its new electric truck at the Company’s manufacturing facility, Zero plants, and the Orion Assembly Plant in Michigan, following the production of the Silverado EV. The corporation has recently announced that it is pushing back the production timeline for its electric vehicle trucks at the Orion facility until 2025.
