The refreshed Mannequin Y, codenamed Juniper, is expected to offer similar features to the refreshed “Highland” Mannequin 3 when it begins mass production in China next month, according to local reports.

According to reports from LatePost, a native information website, the story has been translated into English for global dissemination through CnEVPost.

The latest report highlights the unexpected departure of Track Gang, the former director of Tesla’s Shanghai production hub, a development previously covered by our publication.

The production of the brand-new Model Y is set to commence en masse in January, alongside other announcements made about this innovative vehicle.

The highly anticipated Mannequin Y refresh finally arrives, bringing with it numerous improvements inspired by the 2023 Mannequin 3’s recent updates. The newly redesigned automobile boasts a fresh front end, enhanced efficiency, and a significantly quieter interior experience. Despite numerous internal upgrades, a notable exception was the significant de-provement of removing steering column stalks.

As whispers spread about an imminent arrival, the frequency of sightings and leaks has heightened, culminating in a brief, enigmatic 2-second video captured last week in San Jose. Chinese social media outlets reported in October that the revamped model was entering trial production, only for us to discover a photograph of the updated Model Y outside Shanghai’s manufacturing facility just days later.

It’s no surprise that leaks about forthcoming production updates continue to emerge.

According to the latest report, the highly anticipated six-seat Model Y is expected to enter production in Shanghai by the end of 2025, which is still several quarters away.

Supply instances of what are unclear, leaving uncertainty regarding potential occurrences. While there may still be a wait to attend, especially in the US.

Upon the release of the Mannequin 3 refresh, international shipments commenced shortly thereafter, while domestic deliveries in the United States took approximately five months to commence. Will the Mannequin Y arrive in the US before the midpoint of the year, or will we have to wait until then?

As Tesla’s official stance remains unchanged, stating that a Model Y refresh is unlikely this year, we’re left wondering what lies ahead. With just two weeks remaining on the calendar, the possibility of a surprise entrance into the market is tantalizingly close.
