The GAC-Toyota bZ4X electric SUV commences pre-orders in China from $13,800.

On December 8, the GAC-Toyota joint venture unveiled its inaugural “new energy pure electric SUV” – the bZ3X – which officially launched online pre-orders, available in three trim levels: 430 Air+, 520 Professional+, and 620 Max. The pre-sale value varies between approximately 100,000 to 200,000 yuan, or $13,800 to $27,500 USD. The official launch is scheduled for March of next year. By paying a deposit of 2,000 yuan (approximately $275 USD), clients can enjoy priority access.

The GAC-Toyota bZ3X boasts an exterior design that embodies “pure electrical aesthetics,” characterized by distinct features such as split headlights, discreetly integrated door handles, a sprawling 1.14-meter panoramic sunroof, blacked-out side mirrors, streamlined skirts, and wheel arches. The daytime running lights feature a slender crystal light strip comprising 112 LEDs, accompanied by eight language interactions, including startup, shutdown, charging, and locating the vehicle.

Customers may choose from a palette of seven sophisticated shades: Sky White, Pure Snow White, Distant Mountain Grey, Shimmering Moon Silver, Deep Space Black, Vibrant Sky Pink, and Luminous Cyber Gold. The vehicle is equipped with an option to run on either 18- or 19-inch wheels.

The Toyota bZ3 X electric vehicle is driven by the TZ175XSAY501 motor, a model developed by Guangzhou Nidec Auto Drive System Co., Ltd. With an impressive maximum power output of 150 kW (201 horsepower) and coupled with a robust 50.03 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, this vehicle boasts an estimated range of approximately 430 kilometers under standardized CLTC conditions, as certified by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The battery pack’s substantial weight of 377.4 kilograms demands attention. The opposite two varying options seem to be 520 kilometres and 620 kilometres, given the naming conventions of the trim levels. The official estimated quick-charge time is approximately 24 minutes, allowing the battery to recharge from 30% to 80% capacity.

Within the cockpit’s confines, a sleek two-spoken multi-functional steering wheel, accompanied by an 8.8-inch high-definition LCD instrument panel, and a stunning 14.6-inch floating central management display screen, powered by a cutting-edge Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip that seamlessly integrates voice recognition capabilities.

The rear seats feature air-conditioning vents and a foldable centre armrest for added comfort. This vehicle features cell phone Wi-Fi charging capabilities, as well as ambient lighting with a range of 32 colours. Additionally, it boasts a comprehensive suite of safety features, including seven Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) airbags.
