FreeWire Technologies, a pioneering developer of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, has secured a significant partnership with a prominent player in the automotive industry, enabling the company to expand its reach and deliver turnkey charging options to an even broader customer base. As we speak, FreeWire Technologies announced a strategic partnership with General Motors’ Power division to accelerate the deployment of its ultra-fast electric vehicle charging solutions to businesses and fleets across the United States.

Despite our focus on FreeWire Technologies for roughly a year now, the company behind electric vehicle rapid charging and power management solutions has its roots dating back to 2014. For over a decade, the organization has played a pivotal role in accelerating the global shift towards electric vehicles by developing more eco-friendly and efficient charging solutions.

FreeWire develops and markets a range of turnkey, battery-integrated piles, branded as Increase Chargers, accompanied by proprietary management software designed to optimize their performance following installation via existing low-voltage and low-power grid connections, while still providing DC EV charging efficiency levels.

In the final summer season, FreeWire Technologies rebranded and relaunched their AI-powered platform, acquired in late 2022, under its own banner as Mobilyze Pro – a tool designed to help businesses pinpoint the most optimal locations for installing electric vehicle chargers.

As FreeWire Technologies leverages an escalating roster of advanced chargers and software programs designed to support this technology and the users who rely on it, the company appears poised to accelerate its expansion with the aid of.
GM Power.

General Motors will accelerate its rollout of Freewire electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions to empower drivers with a seamless and convenient charging experience. By integrating Freewire’s innovative products into its ecosystem, GM aims to increase accessibility and drive the adoption of electrified transportation across North America.

Freewire announced key details of its new partnership with General Motors through a press release this morning, revealing that its home and commercial charging division, GM Power, will soon begin offering its products to customers.

FreeWire aims to expand access to electric transportation in the US by integrating its charging solutions into GM Power’s energy management ecosystem, potentially offering a straightforward answer for underserved markets that lack sufficient grid capacity, funding, or permitting for traditional charging infrastructure. According to FreeWire founder and CEO Arcady Sosinov:

We commend GM Power for spearheading a comprehensive effort to facilitate the country’s shift towards sustainable energy solutions and providing integrated alternatives to its customers. This partnership between FreeWire and GM Power offers customers a comprehensive electrification solution that facilitates their seamless transition to a more sustainable future.

The company’s collaboration with GM Power enables a settlement that also allows GM’s business-focused Envolve subsidiary to provide its commercial customers with comprehensive, turn-key energy solutions from FreeWire. Wires reports that General Motors’ subsidiary, GM Power, plans to roll out its increased charging capacity for potential customers by early 2024.
