CATL adds four new batteries to Tectrans (Tianxing) range aimed at commerical and heavy duty usage

On November 25, Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL) unveiled four new variants of its heavy-duty Tectrans battery, marketed as Tianxing in China. Every component is optimized for a specific utilisation case and targeted towards heavy-duty industrial vehicles and equipment. To address business constraints such as brief battery lifespan and slow power recharging rates.

In conformance with the latest CATL standards, our 4 fashion designs leverage a 1,000V high-voltage architecture, thereby accelerating charging speeds by an impressive 43% while minimizing power loss by a significant 50%.

The CATL Tectrans Heavy Business Automobile features an impressive rechargeable battery with a peak charging capacity of 4C, capable of reaching 70% charge within just 15 minutes. This innovative device boasts an exceptional lifespan of approximately 1.2 million kilometers, offering a remarkable cruising range of up to 500 kilometers. What are the costs of electricity in your area? The pack measurement is approximately equivalent to 12 months of average household energy consumption. CATL claims that in scenarios analogous to mining logistics, the charging duration for large commercial vehicles is significantly reduced, thereby leading to substantial revenue growth.

CATL details four distinct sequences for its Tectrans battery lineup.

The CATL Tectrans Heavy Business Automobile – Lengthy Life Version battery boasts an unparalleled lifespan, with a remarkable claim of up to 15 years and an astonishing mileage of approximately 3 million kilometres. While designed to withstand the rigors of repeated charging and discharging, this technology is particularly resilient against battery degradation caused by intense usage patterns featuring heavy payloads and extensive travel over varying distances. Claimed to stretch up to 500 km, with the added convenience of swappable batteries.

The CATL Tectrans heavy-duty industrial vehicle features a long-range battery with a 1000 kWh capacity, enabling an exceptionally long driving range of up to 800 kilometres. Under what utilization circumstances does this apply? When categorical supply and transportation demands necessitate a wider service area for the vehicle in question. Power density reaches an impressive 220 Wh/kg, allowing for a sleek design that seamlessly integrates the battery into the chassis structure, potentially expanding the available cargo space.

CATL Tectrans Heavy Business Automobile – Excessive Energy Version Battery: Optimized for the heavy-duty equipment industry. Despite achieving a mileage milestone of 500,000 kilometers, equivalent to five times CATL’s typical requirement of 100,000 kilometers for durability and performance in mining trucks, the company claims it still has excessive security measures in place.

According to reports, this model has been successfully applied by over 20 manufacturers across eight development equipment producing companies. One notable producer mentioned by CATL is XCMG, which has recently partnered with BYD to supply innovative batteries for construction machinery applications. The heavy-duty Tectrans battery model exceeds IP68 standards for water resistance and features a durable armor coating, providing superior insulation against corrosion and extreme environments.

Gao Huan, Chief Technology Officer of CATL’s home industrial vehicle division, highlighted the milestone launch occasion when he described how a truck equipped with CATL batteries successfully operated for an entire week without needing to be recharged. This achievement resulted in a substantial 30% reduction in operating costs at a copper mine.

CATL unveiled its Tectrans battery model in July 2023, building on the success of its earlier Tectrans B and Tectrans L series batteries introduced previously.

Riding high on a wave of nostalgic fervor, cafe racers have long been the darlings of the motorcycle auction scene. And why not? These rebellious, stripped-down speedsters embody the free-spirited essence of the open road and the thrill of the ride. Here are 10 cafe racers that killed it at auction: 1. Yamaha YZF-R6 (2002) – Sold for $15,000 2. Ducati Monster S4R (2003) – Sold for $13,500

On a budget – Coti Sanders’ Yamaha RD400 is a rare breed of motorcycle that will give you the thrill of owning an iconic 1970s bike without breaking the bank.

Toyota’s Chairman Akio Toyoda appears to be stuck in the slow lane, insisting that electric vehicles (EVs) won’t dominate roads anytime soon. He boldly predicted that by 2030, EVs will only account for a mere 30% of global sales – an astonishingly low estimate that ignores the rapid progress made by Norway and China in adopting clean energy transport.
